My Captain Impressive figure came in yesterday.

It's an exclusive so I'll try to cut it some slack, but this Earl sculpt is getting a little stretched thin.

The head sculpts are the same we've seen on original and WeSaySo Earl, with closed mouth and slightly opened mouth. The eye mask is a separate, non removable piece on the open mouth sculpt.

The "Captain Impressive Trachea Plug" accessory is just a thin strip of clear plastic with the logo kind of tampographed sort of poorly onto it. He can't hold it very well.

The new sculpted bits are only really the gloves, gloved hands, boots, and the piece that goes over the torso. Most of the outfit is tailored soft goods, and you can tell the fully sculpted Earl body with shirt is underneath.

All in all, for an exclusive it's fun, but feels a little corner-cutting in certain aspects.

And it's a bit disheartening that NECA had nothing to show for Dinosaurs at SDCC, so it would be a shame if this is the last figure we get.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I knew it was going to be a rehash but I bought it to support the line. I really hope there is more coming, would be great if someone had asked them at SDCC.  That said I also don't think they showed anything for Gargoyles either? That line hasn't had a new release this year despite at least two new figures planned/prototyped from last year.

The Gargoyles line did technically have a new release in the "Vows" two pack, even though that's essentially a repacking of two figures with some new heads and accessories. But as you said there are unreleased figures that have been shown, like Coldstone and Macbeth, so it's odd there was no presence at SDCC.

Some folks with a bit more insider knowledge have said that NECA had to put together their display in a short period of time for SDCC and will potentially have new things on display for NYCC. But nothing official from NECA so take that with a grain of salt.

I'm doing what I can to support the Dinosaurs line, but I'd be a bit sad if it ends with three Earls and Baby.

I recall they had an issue last year with getting product from China that slowed things down by a few months. Maybe they just need more time to focus on new items?  I would also be pretty upset if it's all we get. At least I still have my original line of figures so that's something. I'd love more of this one though.

I really figured we would be getting more Gargoyles like last year, seemed each quarter there was one. Maybe they just pushed to get the whole basic clan out?  There are a lot more I want from that line too.

I also collect their monsters line, last one I bought was London after Midnight Edward Burke was the last new one released early this year too in the mainline anyway.  I know they have some Neca store exclusives.

Checking out BBTS there are a LOT of Neca preorders still.

Awesome! So many different episodes you can do with just this set.

I feel like Earl is missing some expressions. What if they packed in a "Terrified" head with B.P. as a direct allusion to the bowling threat from 'And The Winner Is...'?

Would also be fun to see The Journal of Economic Finger-Pointing, assuming we get a Richfield of course

Richfield could have like 50 accessories lol

Love  that episode especially in this political climate..

Frustratingly all 3 Earl figures released so far have had basically the same two base expressions (closed mouth/open mouth).

There are a lot of good expressions we could get, I would love to see an accessory pack if we don't get any new Earl figures.

But given that there's unfortunately been no news on this line, either at SDCC or NYCC, I'm starting to doubt that it's going to continue beyond what we've already got. Which would be a shame, because I'd love to complete the rest of the Sinclair family, Roy, BP, and Spike.

We are still getting other muppet stuff, so I'm still holding out hope for more figures eventually

Neca has gone mum on some of their Disney lines like Gargoyles too which had two new releases shown. Those still haven't been given release dates.  I'm not sure if it's Disney, the factory issues they had, or what. But they do sometimes go years then just drop a new figure or two. Sometimes at anniversaries or some such thing. Sadly not every line can be TMNT.

Yeah, their Gremlins line is notorious for disappearing for many years and then showing back up with new figures and sets. It is a bit annoying that we've seen numerous previews of Gargoyles figures like Coldstone and Macbeth without any further information on when to expect them.

Gives me a while for my wallet to recover. As long as they arrive eventually

If they made a roy, what outfit do you think they'd put him in? I wouldn't say there's a single obvious choice, like the red flannel shirt for Earl. Maybe the yellow hawaiian shirt?

Yes, still waiting on the Veggie Gremlin among others..of course we have like 4 Gretas but they did finally give us her so..

I've read they have had computer system issues, staffing problems and more even getting product out from the warehouse was problematic but it seems to be slowly resolving itself.  My Capt Impressive was pretty slow in arriving. I was told it was coming from another warehouse.

Yeah his Hawaiian shirt is pretty much his standard look so I would say it and/or his Wesayso gear.

I hadn't read about those issues. Interesting to hear.

As far as Veggie Gremlin, I'd wager the biggest hurdle is that it'd have to be a completely new sculpt, with little potential to re-use any of it. We got Greta BECAUSE they could release multiple different outfits while utilizing the same sculpt. Most gremlins share a lot of body pieces or even the entire body. But Vegetable Gremlin would require all new parts, which is a lot of tooling investment, especially when you can only really offer one figure out of it. You'd have to be convinced that figure would sell enough to make back the investment costs and I'm not sure it would with a single release.

That's very true. They could release it in a two pack with Lenny as a chef to increase the cost. They might still have his mold laying around. I have the first version. They did update Brain though.

DINOSAURS should be a gold mine of reusable sculpts. So many episodes and they just changed outfits. Even to make new male/female characters.

Diamond Select must have issues too. I ordered this set after watching Muppets Haunted Mansion..last year. Still not out yet.  https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/muppets-uncle-deadly-and-pepe-deluxe-action-figure-set/dc85214
