I think were past talking about the accuracy of the figure but I was just curious, as dino dragon pointed out the head seems a lil big, any one know how much smaller it should be

Sim

I hope the Haolonggood Utahceratops is released soon, I'm eager to have it!  Also, I hope V @vampiredesign requests what we'd like from Haolonggood for next year, I'm not keen on what's currently planned (Hungarosaurus, Udanoceratops, Torosaurus, Mosasaurus, Shantungosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Brachiosaurus) and I have hopes for what I'd like from Haolonggood... such as Futabasaurus!  Mosasaurus surely won't be their only marine reptile, right?

SenSx

Brachiosaurus, Shantungosaurus and Mosasaurus will be must for me.
I hope the Mosasaurus will have that monitor lizard head vibe, like the Sideshow collectible, with fully close mouth.

I'm hoping for Iguanodon, Parasaurolophus maybe Giraffatitan.
Plateosaurus would be great.

And if they want to continue with the marine reptiles, Pliosaurus Funkei (Predator X), Ichthyotitan and Elasmosaurus would be great.

DefinitelyNOTDilo

Oh was hungarosaurus confirmed? That's a really cool pick, the only known ankylosaur with longer forelimbs than hind limbs.

For a sauropod this size the head is about the size of a modern elephant wich makes sense to me, if you scale the teeth/neck vertebrae from smaller animals with a known skull like diplodocus, giraffatitan etc. that both had heads around the size of horses/giraffes it makes sense animals like patagotitan/argentinosaurus had about elephant sized heads.

Sim

Yes, Hungarosaurus was confirmed by Haolonggood.  I too would like a Plateosaurus, but I disagree on Elasmosaurus.  The latter is fragmentary and it seems pointless to make it when there are many other elasmosaurids known from much better remains.  I would be interested in a Pliosaurus on the other hand.

Maybe the HLG mamenchi head just looks small? every picture of the two together the heads throw me off, but maybe these are just the odd propotions of the two.

Elasmosaurus is just for name recognition, it's the go to being the one the family is named after.

My impression is that Haolonggood has overstretched their resources with the production of the Argentinosaurus. This would explain why shipping seems to be very erratic and largely delayed, why we have not seen much of the green variant and why we have not seen any other reveal for about 6 weeks now.

I asked Lana what would be going on and they replied that they expect the Argentinsaurus to be shipped still this week and that they would be stepping up the shipping now. I think they just have not received everything ordered from Haolonggood and that they are covering this up in a face-saving way.

What they are doing is how to run a successful business - these are huge models with above average paintjobs for mass produced figures, it is better to wait then to get a rushed product.

I got the purple one and it's a quite advanced blend of spray paint and some clearly hand painted areas, I would not minded waiting even longer to assure they had time to get it right. I'll post some photos tomorrow, if anyone has any requests for areas of the figure they want to see if still on the fence on ordering one of the variants I can probably make it happen. My personal opinion is this is the best mass produced sauropod figure on the market together with the PNSO alamosaurus and the original W dragon giraffatitan, this one also has less shrink wrapping, accurate scaly skin and more now known things like osteoderms, neck bulk, accurate feet etc.

My point is that the entire process from announcement through pre-order to shipment was quite chaotic. We got to see promotional images which are very different from the final product and no good pictures of the real thing were distributed even when they had started producing the final version. Production of different color options was apparently completed at different times and shipment was done in some cryptic sequence that seems not to match the sequence in which people placed the orders. Even now it is not clear if the green version has been delivered to distributors like Lina Time Shop as no high quality in hand pictures have surfaced on their website.

My Argentinosaurus 129 has arrived yesterday. EMS $80 to Germany in 8 days. I can't complain.
I'm glad I've changed my pre-order to this colour version. The wonderful beast looks exactly as I have imagined.
And the Huayangosaurus is a beautiful little gem. I'm really satisfied with the whole deal :) .

I have ordered two color variants of Argentinosaurus on day 1 of the pre-order within 8 hours after the pre-order has opened and they have not even shipped anything. I can only suspect that the green variant was not delivered or only in insufficient quantities by Haolonggood to Lana. But they should then just be honest and tell that.

I ordered the purple 1-2 days after it went up for pre-order. I paid for shipping right when they sent the email. They said that purple was in stock but going to be shipped soon. Mine has not shipped yet. I don't mind waiting, I still haven't found a place to put it yet. My guess is that these are so large and they have so many that it is taking awhile for them to get them all out.

This is my perspective also.  I've never ordered a dinosaur I NEED, so there's no rush to get any of them.  My concern would be collectors putting pressure on creators, directly or indirectly via the distributors, such that the figures get sped up and the quality suffers.  No one benefits from that.  Plus, the longer these take to come, the easier it is to resist the next new thing.  :)

We are almost there with the Utahceratops ;)

Sim

I am looking forward to the Utahceratops so much!  It's been so long since I bought a Haolonggood figure!  The last one I got was the Saichania.

Look my perspective is that when I order on day one but my stuff is not shipped more than a week after stuff of others is shipped who ordered on the same day or even later I just want to know why. Therefore I take the liberty to ask. And when I get a reasonable explanation everything is fine. This has nothing to do with how long one needs to wait, just with the fact that I want to know what is going on.

And after I have messaged Lana again, they finally admitted that there was a delay in the shipping of the green and brown variant from the factory, which in turn delayed their shipping as well. They could have just sent one message to everyone who bought the Argentinosaurus up front and no questions would have been asked.

There is one more aspect that is of some concern here as well. I would like to get the Argentinosaurus and a few other nice figures in before Mr. Trump takes office and may start a trade war with China. This may result in tariffs and restrictions that may affect other parts of the world like Europe as well.
