Not a fan of all the video ads showing up on the dino toy blog

They gobble up bandwidth for nothing.  I don't like auto play videos of any kind on any site (eg Yahoo) and dislike video ads even more.

I'll decide what videos to watch without having them foisted on me.

I don't choose what ads appear as they're automated by Google, and I haven't changed any settings so I don't know why there are suddenly more video ads showing for you. Still, I'm sorry they bug you. One solution: you might consider to go ad-free by becoming a supporter, detail here: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=11721.0

Existing supporters can vouch it really works.

See, ads don't really bother me, unless they're offensively obnoxious, like KFC ads. I just tend to ignore 'em. When I'm watching Youtube and I'm halfway through a track from Beethoven or Wagner and a KFC ad shows up, you know the ones when some one sees a KFC billboard and exclaims "Shut up and take my money", then there's a bunch of wierdos dancing around eating greasy chicken. KFC's only good if you like someone getting your order wrong a 100% of the time.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Mostly? Do you mean you see ads when not logged in? Or are you referring to affiliate links/banners? Let me know if you're seeing any ads you don't think you should.

You shouldn't be - where are you seeing them?

Edit: oh, I had a thought, it might be your 'Reviewer' permissions overruling your 'Supporter' permissions for certain ad blocks (between posts in threads). Let me see if I can fix that - I might have to turn off those ad blocks for reviewers as well. The same may be true for T @Torvosaurus

Edit 2: this should be fixed now, let me know!

I still see ads if I turn the blocker off. Varies with each browser

At the top of the page in the forum. If I use chrome there's a bunch throughout the page

OK, avatar_SBell @SBell, let me temporarily remove you from the Reviewers group and let me know if that fixes it (obviously, you'll lose access to the reviewers board for a while). At least then I'll know the cause. I think I know, and if so, a slight difficulty arises because the two groups you belong to have conflicting permissions sets. Ironically, Supporters actually have some permissions removed, i.e. the 'permissions' to see ads. But the Reviewers group retains that 'permission', so I think that's what's causing you to still see ads. Sorry about this, I thought your Primary Group (Supporter) would overrule the secondary group permissions, but that seems not to be so. You're a special case, but I do need to resolve this in case other Reviewers become Supporters. A simple fix would be to permit all Supporters to access the reviewers board, and then remove you (and Torvosaurus) from the Reviewers group. That or set a special Reviewer+Supporter group with its own set of permissions.

Okay, no ads on the DTF, but still showing on the other sites.

At least I know the cause on the DTF now - so I can fix it.
ATF makes sense, you're still in the 'Reviewer' group there. I'll apply the fix there, too.
DTB, I notice you've set up a supporter account there so you shouldn't see ads when logged in. Let me know if you do.
ATB & MTB - I haven't removed ads for logged in users there yet. I'll do that soon.

avatar_SBell @SBell, I believe I've solved this on the DTF so you should now have access the the Reviewers board again, but also not see any ads on the forum at all. Please confirm. If it's working I'll implement the fix on the ATF as well.

Okay, I can now see the Reviewer's board, no ads on the forum. Same for the DTB.
