Complete Mastodon Jaw Bone Found In Orange County, New York

The complete jaw bone, as well as a piece of toe bone and piece of rib bone were found as well. The remains are believed to be about 13,000 years old.

Like every kid I used to dream of finding a fossil in my own backyard, and I grew up in Orange County, NY! Never found a mastodon though, just various marine invertebrates, which were still fun to find.
