Tendaguru fauna

Ever since I have visited the Berlin Museum of Natural History I was fascinated by the huge mounted skeleton of Giraffatitan and the story of the Tendaguru fauna which is also linked to the famous paleoanthropologists Louis Leakey.

So finally have started a little initiative that aims at generating models of the main species of the Tendaguru fauna in 3D printable form.

This involves commissioning digital models by VFB Paleoart (https://www.instagram.com/vfb_paleoart/), getting them printed by Dinosauria Creatures (https://dinosauriacreatures.com/en/) and later painted by Dinosaur Models Artworks (https://www.instagram.com/dinosaur_models_artworks/).

Depending on how this evolves, I am thinking on eventually making a diorama of the Tendaguru ecosystem. But first things first.

The first species that was made as a model is Kentosaurus in so far 4 different poses. I can share some pictures of renders that show the little herd of Kentrosaurus that will soon be printed and sent my way.

The second species which is in the making is Elaphrosaurus, a somewhat enigmatic theropod that is classified into Ceratosauria. No skull has been found (but a large fraction of the post-cranial skeleton) and there is apparently discussion whether Elaphrosaurus was carnivorous or rather omni- or herbivorous.
