You're right, that smiley may have never been used before, forum romances have been few and far between!

I'm not sure about including dinosaur icons though. I like and use smileys because they improve communication. I imagine dinosaur icons would get used a lot, but I don't know to what end. I don't think they would actually add any tangible value.

I remember postsaurischian used the kissing emoji for when he liked a figure a lot.  I think it's a nice emoji, I might use it in the future now that it looks nicer than before.

That was before the heart eyes emoji existed, though. Both are good!

In my experience such emojis usually end up mostly in people's signatures. I do know that if there were a T.rex skull emoji, it'd be in every post I made!

Yep, that's the plan. Once we've all agreed on the new set of smileys here, I'll import the lot to the ATF.  8)

As I caught up with DTF last September, I didn't know this one.
Does it more look like an octopus ?
I've just checked on the internet but nothing conclusive came out except a kinda Japanese «oni» (ie devil) emo.

PS : apparently, we can input other emojis directly from our cellphones emo sets ;) 🦖

Yeah, I was trying to work out how to integrate the internet's entire default Unicode emoji set (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_emojis), but the forum software (and my skill!) isn't that sophisticated. So I had to manually pick and choose which smileys to add. All unicode emojis will still work in a browser... if you can find a way to add them to forum posts.

Unicode emojis render differently for different systems, see the different columns here: https://unicode-org.github.io/emoji/emoji/charts-13.1/full-emoji-list.html. I picked the Windows style (the column called "Wind"), which are a bit simpler. If you see any others you like in that column, I'm still open to suggestions.

Technically possible, yes, but I don't think I want to.  :||

It's a rather peculiar one actually.
Nevertheless, if you finally decided to include it in the forum's set, it would probably have its uses :P

Cool thanks for the clarification ^-^
Anyways, wouldn't it be funnier and more homogenous to pick emojis exclusively from the DTF set ? ;)
What do you think about adding the cowboy hat face ? On my end, I often use it for things related to papers or fossil hunting but it might also have its uses in regard to acquisitons of rare figures, for instance. 8)

Sure, I've added two more, the cowboy hat  c):) and also the thinker ????.

The latter I've added because the raised eyebrow smiley  ??? isn't very clear. I may try and edit it myself.

Random question : would it be possible to add the grinning sweating smiley to the current set ? :)

DinoToyForum

I don't see why not.  :)

Good suggestion, I think I'd use it!
