I was very critic about the size of the Edmontosaurus. In fact it was the reason I got the PNSO edmontosaurus after purchasing the HLG one. Which was lovely, by the way, the colours and pose much better than the PNSO, but not the size. Edmontosaurus (and Shantungosaurus) has to be HUGE. T-Rex size.

Lately we see giant edmontosaurus art on all kinds of media because they have been used as helpless prey items for T.rex in the past. It's an overcorrection though. Giant Edmontosaurus sizes are for largest individuals and they are really rare among many. Average mature T.rex is still quite bigger than average mature Edmontosaurus.

So Haolonggood is average size, PNSO is a bit larger individual although not the largest. In fact largest Edmontosaurus size estimates are around smallest size estimates for Shantungosaurus.

Edmontosaurus is a bit choice but Shantungosaurus is must be larger than any dinosaur but sauropods.

I do hope HLG's Shantungosaurus is pretty large, it's the defining feature of the genus. I also really hope the give it a little flair, something unique, like a dewlap on the throat, a striking pattern, or just really good paintwork. I hope the quality is comparable to the PNSO Edmontosaurus, that is such a beautiful figure, but I can't help but think the rooster crest looks a bit goofy. Haha, Shantungosaurus will be the only mega-sized Hadrosaur in my collection.

HLG never does paiantjobs like this, doesn't have to be bright colors, but interesting patterns beyond (Base color with some squiggles/stripes) would be much appreciated! Art By Jack Wood.

And the other will be blue/gray or green-ish. 😉

Out of all Edmontosaurus individuals only two are really big and pass the 6 ton average size. Personally I think Haolonggood made a good call by making their Edmonto on the smaller size.

Quote from: thomasw100 on May 31, 2025, 07:29:29 PMHonestly I do not understand why Haolonggood has dwarfed most of their ornithopods while the sauropods have been essentially spot on in terms of size.

I could see that they made the other hardosaurs sufficiently small to sell in large enough numbers.

But Shantungosaurus is really something for the real enthusiasts and its only selling point is the size.

I mean the species name giganteus says it all.
You've really said it all, T @thomasw100 . That sums it up. Lacking this quantitative attribute, it would likely be a pass for me.

I wonder how long will it take Boundless World to release their own. No news even from Tarbosaurus yet.

Imagine hypothetical new PNSO Shantungosaurus .. It would be chonkier than Haolonggood for sure. (if they do it 1:35)

Did anyone get a shipping notice for the Euhelopus from Lana?

The website said that the figure would be in stock when I placed the order early last week, but it appears that this was possibly not the case.

Bergues

Same here.

Still waiting but not complaining as Alamosaurus who was supposed to be shipped late June is already on its way, alongside few other sauropods.

StickyDan

Same here! Ordered a few days ago, nothing yet. Same thing happened with my Saurolophus, though. It was supposedly in stock, but it took two weeks before it was actually shipped out. Not sure if it really isn't in stock after all, or if there's something else going on behind the scenes.

I'm used to Lana taking between 4 and 6 days to process an order before it moves. I have found this with both pre-paid pre-orders, and orders made from inventory. Typically from the moment I make payment, a Lana order hits my doorstep 8 to 10 days later.

Has anyone here in the States had trouble with tariff charges when importing  figures from Lana Time Shop? Trying to keep track of where we're at with this from one week to the next is giving me a headache...

At this moment, parcels from everywhere on the planet, except China and Hong Kong are subject to a 10% tariff entering the USA. Parcels from China and Hong Kong are subject to a blanket 30% tariff entering the USA, during the 90-day pause of the larger wartime tariffs.

To cover this, Lana Time is adjusting the shipping rates of parcels. For example, Lana Time recently shipped a year-plus long pre-order on the Showanna Tyrannosaurus Scotty. A Year ago I paid $60 for the figure, and $20 for shipping, a total of $80. To cover the current 30% tariff, Lana requested I pay a further $15 shipping to get my figure in 7 to 10 days by air, OR I could have them ship the figure by sea, taking 45 days to arrive, for no extra charge.

I went ahead and paid the $15. Like I said I paid $60 for the figure initially. That was Lana's early bird pricing. Not long after the pre-order went live, the price went from $60 to $80, something which will commonly occur with higher-line products from Lana Time. So, even paying the extra $15, I'm still up a couple bucks on folks that didn't get the early-bird price.

If you make a from-inventory order from Lana Time they will explain the tariff charge during checkout, and you'll have an opportunity to choose whether you wait the extra sea-freight time, or pay the extra to ship by air.

Just received a shipping notification from Lana for the Euhelopus.

I think the information "in stock" was not correct and they just received the Euhelopus figures late last week or on Monday.

Thank you! I just bought another Argentinosaurus (*facepalm*), but there wasn't any mention of additional shipping charges, and I didn't want to be surprised.

My Euhelopus arrived this morning which was way earlier than I was expecting.
They are both very nice, and very small. I bought both variants because I couldn't decide which I preferred, but in-hand I think the brown variant is vastly superior. I love how the paint has been applied here as well as the unique bellowing pose. But like a lot of others here have said, I am getting very tired of the same recycled colour schemes over and over.

I also took a group-shot photo of all Haolonggood's sauropods so far. I didn't realise until offloading the images onto my computer that the Argentinosaurus is too tall for the frame, but that's funny so I'm not retaking the picture! XD

When I see your pictures I do really look forward to receive the Euhelopus. Lovely little sauropod.
