Yes lol, my apologies. I've had a bout with blindness lately for some reason, the reason being my phone and me not being able to sleep.

Yeah, and feel free to post anything today. I've been very busy since Monday morning. I'll edit this Irritator later during the day, which likely means It'll be done at night. It's past midnight and I'm close to fixing my schedule.

Quote from: BlueKrono on October 07, 2021, 05:46:18 AMCould I reserve the Marx pot-bellied T. rex, Struthiomimus and Kronosaurus? I'll have some time in the next few months in which to write.

Alright avatar_BlueKrono @BlueKrono, I'm calling you out, do you still plan on reviewing these? It would be nice to finally get the last three Marx figures on the blog. If you don't plan on doing it, I will. It has been over two years.  ;)

Ah yes, thank you for the reminder. It's been a busy couple years now that I have a two year old and a new house. I'm going to make this a focus as I've compiled a lot of interesting, unique information about these two figures.

Alright, well getting all the Marx figures on the blog was a bit of a passion project of mine in 2020-2021 and I very nearly had reached that goal when you reserved the remaining three. I don't care who writes about them, just that they're on there. I expect your reviews will be worth the wait.  O:-)

Ahem, ahem, avatar_BlueKrono @BlueKrono, it has been nearly another year since I last enquired about your Marx reviews. That means it has been over three years since you reserved them. I don't mean to be pushy but that's a long time to sit on these figures. I set out to get all the Marx dinosaurs on the blog and would have succeeded years ago if you hadn't claimed the remaining ones before I could get them posted. I think it's time you relinquish them. This does not seem to be a priority for you like it is for me. I have my 300th review coming up and I'm thinking about that silver Marx potbelly T. rex sitting in my cabinet.

BlueKrono

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi Sorry for the long wait - moving into the new house has taken priority for the past few months. My collections room is almost complete, so I'll be able to include some good pictures now that everything has a spot where I can find it. Coincidentally I fell sick this weekend and couldn't manage any more physical work, so I've been writing the pot-bellied T. rex review! I'll see if I can finish it up tonight.

Glad to hear you're working on them! I would say get well soon but if being sick gets the Marx page on the blog finally finished then maybe it's preferable that you remain ill. Looking forward to the reviews, but I won't be waiting another year!  >:D

Thank you for your concern, lol. Thankfully it's not Covid, just your run-of-the-mill respiratory bug. After I get the Rexy review finished up the Kronosaurus one will be hot on its heels... and much longer!

Pics for HC Dilophosaurus, Spielberg Dilophosaurus and BOTM Dilophosaurus are well under way. My aunt is going to begin making the manger scene this week, and it features a waterfall, so you can guess what I'm going to use that for.

Review for Irritator HC is coming soon. I deleted my notes accidentally on gdrive, so I have to start writing that over.

Lots of monsters coming on the MTB. I got some delightful sets for photography that won't clash with my phone's evil camera. Taking pics on the bricks downstairs has always been a hassle, it's just it was easier with my 15 year old regular camera! But the difference in clarity between that and all the phones I've owned since then are very obvious. My current phone just loves backgrounds more than it loves the subjects. unless they are brightly colored. I don't know how my JW Avaceratops got away with as much stuff as it did.

I just want to chime in and say that not reviewing a toy after three whole years really is unfair and unacceptable, and it will never be happening again.

I've done it myself! It's not a big deal. It's just a toy blog.

I have two kids and a wife that works at a school, when school is in session we're getting sick every few weeks with something, maybe that's why I get so many reviews done. lol

No, seriously, do get well soon and looking forward to the reviews.

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi, i'm surprised there's been no Mattel Diplodocus review from you yet.   Have you got it?  It's the best Mattel sauropod yet.  Bigger than i was expecting, so i'm using it as a D. hallorum aka Seismosaurus.

I have not encountered one yet and will probably wait for a sale anyway. Very excited about it though! It does look to be the best of the big sauropods so far.

A ton of 'em out here, half priced, too. I cannot own it yet due to space, and I want to see if it will go lower.

Gwangi, make sure you keep checking Amazon.  Amazon Canada just had them for 40% off.  I was tempted to get a second one but didn't as i'm hoping for another new sauropod next year and want to save space for it.

Thanks for the heads up! I will check Amazon.

avatar_EmperorDinobot @EmperorDinobot it seems the west coast gets new toys before the east. I'm sure it has something to do with the closer proximity to Asia.

My little one just turned three, so as a parent you might have some insight into what my last three years have been like. I've now sent my review over to Dr. Admin for some formatting. I can't wait for you all to read it, and finally check off those last couple Marx boxes!

Just posted, thanks avatar_BlueKrono @BlueKrono!

Obviously, we don't want anyone to sit on a figure for the sake of it, but that's not what happened here. So, while I agree in general it's good to avoid unnecessarily long waits, sometimes it's worth it.

Having just published an academic article that I first started 19 years ago, a three-year production time feels lightning fast!

My oldest is 9 and my youngest is 21 months so I've been there and am going back again. Worth it though, as I'm sure you'll agree. Just read the review and it was certainly worth the wait. An excellent first review!

Not always, avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi . A lot of stuff gets spotted in TX first, then FL, then CA,

Noideaforaname

I'm interested in contributing reviews here, namely the recent Convention Crasher set. Am I able to "claim" it? These review schedule threads are rather out of date, don't want to work on something if someone else is already in the middle of it.

Also got a number of BotM, Jurassic Park/World, other oddball releases I could do.

The blog could absolutely use a review of the Convention Crasher set. As for BotM, there are a number of tyrannosaurs and ceratopsians still unclaimed. Do you have Torosaurus or Albertosaurus or Gorgosaurus handy?
