I love my EoFauna T. rex, one of my favourite figures, but i've still never seen a photograph where it looks good. It's a figure that you really need to see and feel in your hands to appreciate.
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Been trying for months now. Different scenes, different lighting, outdoors, indoors... have yet to take anything I'm willing to show anyone.

Manospundylus gigas

Quote from: Turkeysaurus on August 01, 2025, 01:36:30 PMToday I ordered Daspletosaurus (Purple/Brown) which was 23 Euro (cost 37 Euro with taxes)

I know it's a bit larger than what average 1:35 should be but there are specimens named Pete III and another i forgot. They should be 10-11 meters long.

There aren't many models that i can order to my country, almost none at this size. Even if i can find someone to bring figures in future , i don't want to waste that space on Daspletosaurus.

I might try to paint eyes less cartoony. That would change a lot. Maybe i would paint it's face to black like Eofauna or Rebor to make large scales less noticable too.

What's your take on Haolonggood Daspletosaurus? It doesn't seem too out of place next to Eofauna & PNSO.

Pete III is 9,7m long, its skull was finally described this year, the measurements are in the suplementary data. The other big specimen "Sir William" turned out to be a different species of Teratophoneus, but smaller than Pete III, both specimens size was greatly exagerated at the beginning, because both were comercially available, and bigger size always sells better. "Sir William" is still available for 10 million dollars at triebold, but is around 9m. So there wasnt any Dasp over 10m, but Pete III at 9,7m is indeed substantially bigger than the next biggest Dasp specimen that is around 9,1m.

Now... wheres my Dippy? I need that Diplodocus!!!!! arrggghhh

Joel1905

Seconded on that Diplodocus! I NEED a 1:35, anatomically up to date model of my 2nd favourite dinosaur!

Obviously going for the colour scheme that's most reminiscent of Walking with Dinosaurs!

Turkeysaurus

It's 29.5 cm , maybe 30.5 along the centra since it has straight tail. That would make 10.3-10.7 m for HLG. 9.7 m- 10 m for largest Daspletosaurus still very close. And still quite smaller compared to PNSO Wilson/Eofauna/Rebor Rex.

I think only if my future whatever brand Tarbosaurus would be same or smaller then it would bother me.

I can only bring a few dinosaurs in a few years via travel so PNSO Daspletosaurus wouldn't make the list anyway.

It'll be Demar DeRozan of Daspletosaurus models in my dino roster. (Until Kawhi Leonard becomes available)

I wasn't planing on getting one - I have enough T-Rex figures as is and I'm not too keen on the Eofauna paint job however you guys are certainly making me reconsider this. The only dinosaur I have from them is their Atlasaurus which is incredible. Complete goofball and I love it. I always feel the same with HLG in regards to their pictures vs in hand viewing. They're always so much better looking in hand than they look online. This is especially true with some of their more flamboyantly colored models.

Don't expect T.rex to be as good as Atlasaurus in terms of having small scales & paint quality though. Atlasaurus , except for it's eyes, is on par with Haolonggood. Close to PNSO. It definitely has the best quality of all Eofauna dinosaurs.

The Atlasaurus is the best amongst their dinosaur line up I agree. And older release but still easily beats out the rest IMO.

Being completely honest here, I was going to disagree with you and I was going to use pictures to do so. That is until I picked it up and looked closely at its eyes! I never realized it actually lacked eyeballs! It's just painted on. I almost wish I didn't know this 😆

I think eyeballs having same tone of yellow circles around them makes it a bit cheaper. Also they doesn't look glossy as far as i can remember. Maybe a different color wash over eyeballs and a gloss coat over them would make it good like HLG/PNSO. Maybe not even a wash, i have metallic gold colored sharpie, that might do it and then gloss coat. It seems relatively easy even for an amateur.

Usually the eyes are shaped like eyes - oval or round with some wrinkly skin on top due to the eyelids being open and the skin being bunched together. The "eyes" here aren't eyes, they're painted yellow circles. There isn't even a bump or different texture. I never actually noticed this until you guys pointed it out. Still one of my favorite models. Such a weird dinosaur that looks like it was drawn by a four year old. But the eyes are a completely legitimate criticism.

If you ever feel the proportions of Atlasaurus look stupid, take a closer look at it and then compare it to that of a Giraffe. You may be surprised!
