Quote from: suspsy on August 09, 2025, 07:06:56 PMI hope this month's reveal is Deinosuchus. Can't imagine it'll be Giganotosaurus.
Same here, Deinosuchus is the 2025 release I'm most excited about.

I toyed around with the notion of getting the Rebor one a while back; this news makes me glad that I didn't pull the trigger on that purchase.

Me too. Want to dump the Rebor one.

Is there something wrong with Rebor's accuracy wise? I love mine and wish I was able to get both variants. They're so detailed.

Rebor botched the osteoderms for one thing. Deinosuchus had very large, uniquely shaped osteoderms, but Rebor basically gave theirs a run of the mill modern crocodile set.

The Rebor Deinosuchus basically has the head of an adult and the body (osteoderms) of a juvenile, and the head-body ratio is off. Also, it has clawed hind feet which it unlikely had based on its phylogenetic position in relation to other crocodilians that we know do/did not.

But honestly, I am hoping to phase out the two Rebor models I have. The Deinosuchus and the dire wolf. The only model of theirs I want to retain is the Protolindea and that's because of my arthropod focus.

Monkeysaurus

Those two models look so incredibly life like and real that I'm willing to overlook those inaccuracies personally. The Sarcosuchus might be one of my favorite models based purely on the workmanship and photo realistic quality. It'll be interesting to see how HLG tackles this species. If they can do crocodilians like they can sauropods I'm sure it'll give Rebor a run for their money.

The Templar of the Past

The only thing I regret about missing out on the Rebor Deinosuchus now that Haolonggood's is coming out is the Appalacchiosaurus' corpse.

I'd love to have a dead carnivorous dinosaur in my collection, I would have gone for CollectA Tyrannosaurus if it weren't for the consistency issue of it having feathers while all the others I have do not.

I love their bases, I have the Alamo one however I'm not a fan of those ferns they always insist on putting in - they look cartoony. I painted over mine to try and help make it look more natural

Those "ferns" are often used as generic aquarium plants.

For me the main problem with Rebor's Deinosuchus is the scale, it's way too big for 1/35 scale, the inaccuracies don't bother me much it look Deinosuchus enough and the model is really cool and well done.
I display it and the Sarcosuchus along my BOTM figures, but the Sarcosuchus has paint quality issues, just after a week the tail paint started cracking and falling off.

I'm very surprised we got Brontosaurus so soon with at least 2-3 other sauropods confirmed(?) already. Colours are unfortunately quite derivavitve of Haolonggood's other models, but otherwise they're lovely. The pose has a lot more life to it than usual which is great.
They almost just look like updated and re-posed version of Haolonggood's Apatosaurus, but I suppose the two species looking so alike is incredibly accurate.

We're really building out that Morrison Formation! :D

Now this is the Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus :-* ) I've been waiting for *-* It will be my first sauropod from Haolonggood.

I'm curious to see closer photos of the Haolonggood Brontosaurus, but in any case this is a nice surprise!  It tempts me to replace my 1:40 sauropods with Haolonggood's 1:35 ones!  But I don't feel I can do that currently because I much prefer the head of my Papo Apatosaurus to that of the Haolonggood Apatosaurus.  I do have a Brontosaurus too which I very much like, the CollectA one.

OMG, those colors...again.  ::) Great looking figure though, of course. Love the little twisty tail tip.
