Another interesting detail about this study is that it estimates the weight of Spinosaurus to have been just over 8 tons, confirming it to have been lighter than both Giganotosaurus (8.5 tons) and Tyrannosaurus rex (9-10 tons).

Very interesting it seems most other giant theropod dinosaurs tend to downgrade in mass over time yet T.Rex keeps increasing in mass . We went from 5-6 tons in the early 2000 to 10 tons of meat mountains such as Scotty and Sue in present time. But I guess we simply have more skeletons of them than the rest which is a huge advantage for more precise measurement.
