As most of you know, the "Walking with" series used lots of practical effects.
Out of seemly nowhere, some have popped up on Ebay.
I will link the listings, and personally I am worried that these monuments of my childhood are going to be sold off and never seen again.

Animatronic Andrewsarchus Head

These are all of them I believe. Let me know if any of you found more.

Wow, these are the times I wish I had a money tree. I'd totally go for that Andrewsarchus!

Oof. The Eustrepto has seen better days. Hope the buyer refurbishes it.

Agreed. These listings make me wonder what happened to all the other animatronics. I bet some are in some BBC vault, but others may be where we would never think they would be.

I own several Walking with props, the animatronics are not in excellent condition unfortunately but at least I saved them from a warehouse. I hope I can get more maquettes, but I was really lucky to obtain my favorites beasts, many others have been sold on eBay in the past and others are owned by various collectors, I believe many of them in Asia. As reguard the animatronics thanks to sources I know that unfortunately many of the puppets have been completely destroyed by time and by the bad conditions in which they remained for years. These on eBay are some of the latest.  :))

I never thought the actual wwd ornithocheirus will be easier to find than the toy

Carnoking

Man, how cool would it be to have one of those hanging on your wall!
avatar_SommoDracorex @SommoDracorex Well done saving those beauties! What kind of warehouse do you find stuff like that in? Something owned by the FX shops in charge of creating them?

Faelrin

It is quite tragic the shape some of the are in, but I certainly hope a passionate fan or collector can get a hold of these and keep them safe, and cherish them.  WWD aside, WWB is still one of the best that's happened for prehistoric Cenozoic animals, and putting some of them in the spotlight for once.

avatar_SommoDracorex @SommoDracorex I am really glad to see you've saved some of those, particularly many of the WWB ones used. Also thank you for sharing pics of those here with us.

Quite the collection, well done! Bit of TLC needed for the puppets, but better than rotting. Maquettes look great, would love to have had some, or even a copy for my own, then could paint them.

SommoDracorex

Unfortunately most of the pieces used in BBC productions were foreclosed years ago in a warehouse, many of them were already in bad condition, others have become later in the hands of bad owners. When the warehouse was foreclosed, everything was sold. I still have a pictures that I found many years ago on a web archive that show the wonders of that warehouse, if anyone is interested I can show them.
As for painting these maquettes, I particularly advise against doing it. A collector I found - I think he's japanese - repainted some of them but unfortunately it is not possible to obtain a good result because these are scan models and therefore don't have a texture, the texture was created directly in CGI. Same thing for furs. These maquettes are mostly "smooth". ^^

Oh dear that stinks. Nice that at least of the WWB stuff is saved! I wonder where the WWD and WWM animatronics are, if they still even exist.

Impressive collection avatar_SommoDracorex @SommoDracorex!

I checked the other items the seller is offering, seems as though there are some more affordable ones, such as the Ammonite for £31. However, postage is about £120.....

The Andrewsarchus has been rescued by Trey the Explainer.

Man, what a lucky guy. I'm happy to have my 3D printed skull miniatures of Andy, but what I wouldn't do for having the actual WWB Andrewsarchus head.

Also, I cracked up at the last comment in the screen shot.

I am incredibly jealous!

WalkingWithBeasts

It sounds like a good idea and worth a try but unfortunately I think they probably wouldn't be able to create exact replicas due to copyright as much as I'd love to see more of them available especially the scan models.
