Lest anyone forget, Mueller et al. (2023) have described a new kannemeyeriiform dicynodont from the Late Triassic Tecovas Formation of western Texas, Argodicynodon boreni.

Although Placerias is the most well-known stahleckeriid dicynodont from North America, stahleckeriids have also known in the Late Triassic of North America from Wyoming, New Mexico, and North Carolina, including Eubrachiosaurus as well as undescribed material from North Carolina and indeterminate remains found in the Los Esteros Member of the Santa Rosa Formation in New Mexico (see Kammerer et al. 2013). Argodicynodon thus is significant as the first Late Triassic kannemeyeriiform taxon from a part of the southwestern US besides Arizona to be described on the basis of diagnostic material.

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Love to see that there were more dicynodonts holding out than we originally thought.
