So I'm down to two episodes left. Thoughts under the spoiler tag. This will be for episode 5-8:

Spoiler
So I'm not surprised the Broker is Soyona Santos. About time adding her into the mix anyways since we know she's connected to the Atrociraptor in Dominion. That said we still don't know like anything about that creepy person with the Atrociraptor in the previous season. Glad to see they didn't forget about Red either. Were just saving her for this season. Also pretty interesting to hear about the Fighting Dinosaurs fossil mentioned, where it was found, and Velociraptor mongoliensis and Protoceratops andrewsi name dropped. I wonder if they are treating the film "Velociraptor" (which are an early 90's Deinonychus in all but name) and the real dinosaur different?

RIP that hippo and the Suchomimus following in the episode after. At least they didn't downplay the hippo as some gentle herbivore. Honestly it disappoints me stuff like this didn't happen in Dominion (closest we got was the lion and the T. rex at the end of FK). Chaos Theory once again delivering on that front.

The ending of episode 8 definitely got me intrigued where this is going. Kenji was definitely very angry there. Guess it's Ben's time to have a beef with him, like Darius did in season 1. It was just a matter of time before the group found out she was alive after he did.

Oh and here's the prehistoric species shown too:
-Brachiosaurus
-Atrociraptor Red
-Pteranodon
-Suchomimus
-Dimorphodon
-Majungasaurus
-Monolophosaurus
-Baryonyx
-Gallimimus Geba

Edit: Came across these model sheets from Chris Sears, one of the artists and designers for the show. Spoilers abound, so don't take a look until you finish the show (or are almost done with it aka at least watched episode 8). Not sure if his works were shared here before.

Worth noting Mattel did minis with both colorations of the Majungasaurus and Becklepsinax in the two Chaos Theory sets. Gigantic Trackers Suchomimus is based on the third color variant for it, with the Suchomimus in the unreleased set based on the second variant. And of course the Becklespinax mainline toy is based on the first variant. I think the Pachyrhinosaurus mainline toy gets its coloration from the 02 color variant. Apparently he did a number of the models for Camp Cretaceous (with art direction from JP Balmet and Christophe Vacher), namely the Scorpios rex, Ouranosaurus, baby Brachiosaurus, Monolophosaurus, Dimorphodon, Smilodon, Angel & Rebel/Spinoceratops, Dilophosaurus, Nothosaurus, and Kentrosaurus Pierce.

So I finally finished this season. Thoughts below.

Spoiler
Like the others here, I also loved that scene with Red clicking to control the Baryonyx. Sort of like the reverse of the Indominus rex and the raptor squad, but feels like something that would be way more plausible, considering the raptors in franchise would be smart enough to understand how to not only imitate sounds, but use it with situational awareness.

Overall I would have liked a little more time with the Majungasaurus, but what we did get was nice, particularly in the first episode. I think the Suchomimus and hippo stole the spotlight for the season. The blind Baryonyx was also interesting.

After watching the whole season, I agree with Shane, it is frustrating how much of it drags on, just to pad the show out more.

I do think the first season was much better handled and felt more mature. That isn't to dismiss this season's highlights, but they are kind of few and far between, with things being stretched out more then they needed to. Very little character development as well.

Wonder when the next season will come out?

I enjoyed this season very much. Found myself noticing plot points that we were all looking for in Dominion. Agreed with some others here that there are a lot of unresolved / unexplored elements that should have at least been covered in this season, rather than pushed to the next.

Spoiler
One was the creepy whistle lady in S1. Where did she go? How did Soyona get her own Atrociraptor?

Kenji's trauma. Everyone seems to notice it, but something always conveniently happens to stop them from broaching tbe subject.

Happy that the campers now all know Brooklyn is alive, but I wonder why she refused to rejoin them. Gotta wait for S3 I suppose.

Parts I enjoyed:
- Suchomimus vs hippo! This was great, exactly what we wanted to see as a consequence of dinosaurs being released into the world. The Suchomimuses themselves were gorgeous too.

- When they were stumbling around in the underground lab, and Zayna's flashlight illuminated the blind Baryonyx - that made me jump.
- And of course, the Atrociraptor learning how to communicate with the Baryonyx almost immediately. Chilling  especially for Dr Sarr.

Looking forward to S3! And Bumpy v2 (:

There's an old trope in movies and tv shows that if characters would just be open and honest with each other there'd be no plot and no point to the movie or show. Sometimes this can be done naturally and organically, but with this show it it feels like they're leaning into this very hard. Especially because these characters are ostensibly all great friends, so it really makes even less sense that they would hide crucial info or bottle up their feelings from each other.

It's to the point where I'm not sure I want to even keep going with this series if it's just going to be such a small amount of plotting over so many episodes.

The voices surprisingly felt quite natural despite two of the core cast members being replaced.

I expect a lot of action/loose ends tied up next season..unless it's not the last season.  I wouldn't be surprised to find the campers were at Biosyn valley during the events of Dominion.

Brooklyn burning papers in a plastic bucket is really all that needs to be said about the writing on this show.
