Laffonia is a fossil from the Jurassic of Switzerland that has been interpreted as a ctenophore or other soft-bodied animal. This paper argues that it is instead an egg case from a holocephalan similar to a modern short-nosed chimera. There are a few chimeras known from body fossils around the same time, such as Ischyodus, but they're pretty different from, for example, Hydrolagus. This might suggest they go back a bit farther than we thought.
