Birthday Candles! Kinda surprised they've survived all these years. Dunno who made them, whether it was a widely produced set or something fairly local.

I'm assuming this is supposed to be the obligatory T. rex, but these guys are abstract Flintstones-esque designs that defy scientific classifications so it could be anything... or nothing, just a generic dinosaur.

Li'l red, though, is definitely inspired by Stegosaurus specifically.

Greenie is maybe a sauropod?

Big red is similar to Greenie, but with a unicorn horn!

Libraraptor

I like how you joyfully surround yourself with dinosaur stuff!

Hammond Hadrosaurs

Parasaurolophus - I do appreciate how added articulation means you can force movie toys into more realistic stances  ^-^

Corythosaurus - surprisingly not a repaint of Para "Elvis"

As someone who always floods his JPOG/JWE parks with all the hadrosaurs, I wish we'd get more in HC, but it seems like the "mid-sized" tier is gone.

BotM Ceratopsians!

Psittacosaurus - I must admit I'm wary of BotM's bipeds. Psitta's foot got bent out of shape after about a year of standing on its base, but that was easily fixed with hot water. Yutyrannus however was unable to stand after mere weeks! Consequently, I have Psitta on all fours while just chilling on the shelves.

Protoceratops hellenikorhinus

Baby Diabloceratops

...and Adult Diabloceratops

I may have to grab an extra set or two of the hatchlings...

Einiosaurus

Albino Zuniceratops - doesn't show up in photos but there's a neat pearlescent effect with the white scales

Fans' Choice Pachyrhinosaurus - the intricate paintwork really shines on a toy this big

Hammond "Mid-Sized" Theropods
As someone semi-new to dino toy collecting, I really underestimated the number of theropods that get made.

Metriacanthosaurus - I appreciate the plainess of this figure; no extraneous spikes or scutes or anything, just a simple 'generic' theropod

Ceratosaurus

Always nice to have contemporaneous dino toys

Concavenator - articulated wrists is an odd extra feature, but not unwelcomed

My copy unfortunately has droopy jowls

Baryonyx

Irritator

Two spinosaurid, two entirely different design philosophies.

BlueKrono

avatar_Noideaforaname @Noideaforaname I've been looking for that Irritator but I've never found it in my local stores. Where did you find yours?
We are accustomed to look upon the shackled form of a conquered monster, but there - there you could look at a thing monstrous and free." - King Kong, 2005

Did you actually get the Ceratosaurus to balance on one leg like that!?

Pre-ordered it from Big Bad Toy Store, though it's long out of stock there.

Yes! Completely unassisted, though the pose is a little more awkward than the pic lets on:

Prehistoric Pokémon plushies, by Tomy

Tyrunt - a Tyrannosaurus is actually a bit of a surprising choice since the Fossil Mon theme usually opts for lesser-known species. Its Pokedex entries suggests it was actually fully feathered, that its scaly appearance is due to the de-extinction process.

Amaura - an arctic Amargasaurus with aurora sails. In both game lore and mechanics, Amaura has the advantage over Tyrunt since the latter is weak to the cold. (granted Amaura has plenty of weaknesses of its own)

crazy8wizard

Amusing to mention how in the region inspired by France one of the two fossil pokemon is an American genus while in the region inspired by New York one of the two fossil pokemon is a European genus (Archaeopteryx).

Some non-dinosaur things

HC Dimetrodon

HC Scutosaurus

PNSO Dunkleosteus - someone's bound to make a toy of the updated Dunk, but I really like how this one looks. Like, the armor is there, but not super conspicuous.

And the old children's book serving as a backdrop for the first pic. I'm not going into a full review here, but this particular spread is an interesting one:

Also... that angleshark-looking thing has an amusing expression.

Libraraptor

Nice stuff. I like how the friendly Scutosaurus is relaxing. :))  And  I like that book!

BrontoScorpio

Halichoeres

I'm struggling to identify that fish! All the things I can think of with roughly that shape have their eyes in different places. Cool book in any event.

Also that Dunk is one of PNSO's nicest figures, notwithstanding some improbably proportions.

I also find It unlikely that any company will have as good of jaw articulation as does the PNSO. Unless PNSO themselves releases an updated one at some point.

... How many raptors do I need?

HC JP Velociraptor - I think the original Jurassic Raptor is a bit boring but I bought it anyway just in case this whole 1/18 scale articulated dinosaur toy deal didn't last, lol

JP/// Male Velociraptor

JP/// Female Velociraptor

BotM Velociraptor

BotM Deinonychus

BotM Dromeosaurus

HC Pyroraptor

HC Atrociraptor "Ghost"

Halichoeres

Those BotM raptors look good! Convenient to have them in scale with the JP characters.

Double Double Crested Lizards

HC Dilophosaurus -- love that the frill is completely removable and even has a "folded" alternative too

Transformers Dilophocon -- the frill is technically removable, but...

Dilophocon comes paired with Dennis Nedry as a robot! (unimaginatively named JP12)

Amusingly enough, the scale here implies Dilophocon is an adult Dilophosaurus.

Nedry-bot comes with a Barbasol can, complete with a secret embryo container

Hybrid monsters were as big of an obsession as dinosaurs for me as a kid, so naturally the Chaos Effect line was one of my all-time favorites.

Compstegnathus
(Compsognathus + Stegosaurus)

(+ Frog!)
The infamous amphibian DNA popping back up in an unexpected way is such a fun twist.

Amargospinus
(Amargasaurus + Spinosaurus)

This was my introduction to Amargasaurus, which has since become one of my favorite dinosaurs. A shame scale wasn't a factor back in the day, but Rebirth's Titanosaurus does seem like a spiritual successor of sorts for Amargospinus.

Ankyloranodon
(Ankylosaurus + Pteranodon)

Anyone else read that children's book with the fake flying ankylosaurus (Be a Dinosaur Detective)? This toy always reminds me of that.

Weird teeth

Tyrannonops
(Lycaenops + Tyrannosaurus)

Being a simple repaint there isn't much overt hint of T. rex here (unless we count similar colors to the Omega T. rex), but for my childhood self the silly chomp gimmick got the idea through well enough.

Tanaconda
(Tanystropheus + Anaconda)

Despite the punny name, I always got the impression it was part diamondback rattlesnake instead.

Velocirapteryx
(Velociraptor + Archeopteryx)

An amusingly convoluted method to make the raptor a little more scientifically accurate.

Thrasher T. rex

... is just a T. rex

Albeit a rather colorful one!
