Hello everyone. Big fan of the blog and forum, been visiting off and on for a few years, and was a member of the old forum.

I have something pretty cool to share. I recently acquired a casting of the Triceratops from the Ray Harryhausen movie One Million Years B.C. He was originally sculpted by Arthur Hayward and animated by Harryhausen. The casting came from the Forest Ackerman collections. It is resin and painted to look like antique bronze.

And here's a cool video of Arthur Hayward where you can see the triceratops in the background:

I just had to share!!!

Gorgeous art! It's a pity Harryhausen had to decapitate and resculpt the model for the Gwangi Styracosaurus.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Very nice model! The video was cool as well. I wonder why there haven't been any good stop-motion dinosaur movies in a while, It would be very unique for modern times.

JP kinda spoiled it with CG which every film thinks it needs now.

The Aurora Prehistoric Scenes Trike was clearly, ahem, inspired by One Million Years BC and could be a cheaper alternative , particularly if you got the Revell re-issue. You just need to shut its mouth to hide those sharp teeth!

It's hard to look at those old Aurora kits today and imagine that they were, at one time, actually accurate. How times have changed.

Speaking of Aurora, I really like the "What If" line of models that the Alchemy Works has going on.

CityRaptor

I don't think the Aurora kits were ever meant to be accurate. Speaking of them:

Back to topic: What a beautiful piece!
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
