A few sources are reporting that Michael Trcic has passed away. I can't think of a more famous paleoartist - Trcic was a major contributor to the Jurassic Park movie and personally designed the iconic T. rex. If this turns out to be true it is a huge loss for dinosaur fans everywhere.

I read the same. Shane Foulkes said it was true in a post I read on FB.  Friend of mine was just in Disney at the Animal Kingdom Dinosaur ride and sent me pics of his work made for the ride including that life size Tyrannosaurus head. I grew up seeing his work in a books and magazines..everywhere.

That's very unfortunate. May he rest in peace. About the same age as my father too.

There's the passing of an age.

I remember what seems like a million years ago, seeing his high-steppin' T.rex from Favorite and having my mind blown.

This is hard to hear. It's like an axe-blow at the roots of a tree.
