Hello all! As I'm sure some of you will agree, the Indominus rex is a little dull considering what could have been done with a genetically engineered dinosaur - it shouldn't just look like a tweaked allosaur, it should be crazy! Over on twitter, there's been quite a lot of palaeoartists and others designing their own theropod nightmares, and it's great fun! I thought there should be a thread for this here in case anyone wanted to have a go at sharing ideas  :D !

Check out some of them here: https://twitter.com/hashtag/buildabetterfaketheropod?src=hash

Here's my contribution - a messed up Dunkleosteus inspired beastie:

I liked the I. rex. It was different looking enough from the other JP theropods but still conservative. It still looked believable. When the announcement was made that there would be a hybrid nightmare dinosaur my mind was flooded with images of how awful it could look but when I finally saw the end result I calmed down a little. It's a believable animal.

jooooo

I made one with what i thought were the dinosaurs Indominus was made from, Giganotosaurus, Rugops, Majungasaurus and Carnotaurus

The original plan as I heard was to have a human/dinosaur hybrid. The concept art for that was awesome and downright terrifying - like something out of alien. It would have made a brilliant suspense/horror thriller haha
