I'm very much looking forward to CollectA's upcoming ivory-billed woodpecker figure (and posting a review of it). This article caught my eye tonight. It certainly would be incredible if the species was indeed confirmed to still exist.

Hopefully this helps bring some more environmental awareness to these incredibly at risk regions (ever moreso lately...).

Yeah, I don't really collect "extant" animals but sadly I'll have to get this one. And that was a good article but I was hoping it would have something new, but not really, and I'm not optimistic. The ivory bill is the thylacine of North America.

I very much recommend the book Hope is a Thing With Feathers.

Sadly, I'm sure the new administration wouldn't even listen, let alone care.

My thoughts on the subject:  :'(

But also, be careful friends.  C:-)

The last confirmed sighting was in Cuba; I wonder how much searching has been done there?

Pachyrhinosaurus

I saw that footage a few weeks back. I really hope there's a viable population out there somewhere. I got to see one up close before since our local museum has one, and it's a very impressive bird.

It used to be called the Lord God Bird, because when one took off near you you'd involuntarily exclaim, "Lord God what a bird!"

Or at least that's what one of my professors told me. I wouldn't put it past him to make it up.

The "Lord God Bird" nickname is true. In fact, someone recently wrote a song about the ivory-bill with that title.
