Seems to me as though it might be more than one sculptor right now, but that's also conjecture.

It definitely isn't. Their Quetz is close to 1:40, but the Alamosaurus is around 1:80. But the one Kayakasaurus is about to cast would work...

One quick question, does anyone else have the 1:40 scale Pteranodon? It seams that not a lot of people have it and it is a pretty underrated figure. In my opinion, it is a lot better than their newer one.

Halichoeres

Not sure which you mean. They have this one: http://dinotoyblog.com/2016/09/28/pteranodon-collecta/

which is okay, and is actually about 1:40, released 2006.

Then they have this one: http://toyanimal.info//index.php?title=CollectA_88249_Pteranodon_-_Deluxe_1:40_Scale

which is sold as "Deluxe 1:40" but is gigantic, probably more like 1:10 or 1:15. It came out in 2008 and I don't think it's as good as the first one, if for no other reason than that it seems to lack pycnofibers.

It has pycnofibers on on its chest and throat but it is really good in my opinion. I like its crest better as it's thinner and less like a carrot.

My current CollectA haul consists of the Diplodocus, Juvenile T Rex, Mosasaurus, Hunting T Rex, Torvosaurus, Thalassomedon, Feathered Tyrannosaurus, Deluxe Spinosaurus, and the Deluxe Smilodon. The smilo is coming mid-late April, diplo, hunting rex, and juvenile rex are coming off of amazon, rest haven't been ordered.......yet.

The crest is better, I'll give you that. I had both briefly and ended up selling them.

I agree. I used to want the "Deluxe 1:40" version because I was (sadly) a scale freak at one time. When I learned that it was much too large for 1:40, I immediately switched my plans to the Standard Pteranodon. I would continue but you have pretty much described everything else I have to say.
