Looking for a model...

Actually I believe it was more of a diorama.

It was some medium-large Allosauroid or Megalosauroid in a very relaxed position with at least one tree. Very peaceful.

I'd like to find it again because it was one of the rare depictions of a carnivore resting.

I believe I might've been searching for Yanchuanosaurus when I found it, or at least I remember that, but that hasn't brought up anything so far.
What I love about Allosaurus is that it lived an extremely violent life that was rife with broken bones, cuts, scrapes, infections, sprains, and yet it just kept on truckin.

Is it this?

I don't think its still being produced, but maybe there's a built one floating around somewhere for sale.

Oh yeah! There it is! I guess I was wrong about the trees, haha.

Yeah hopefully!

Dang it, I was about to post about that model too.
Well here's an image at least:

You could always email Dan @ Dan's Dinosaurs, maybe see if he knows anything about the model. I think its been a few years since it was posted, but maybe he knows how to get in touch with the original sculptor? Its probably a long shot, but at least its a starting point.

Speaking of lounging Allos, I saw this guy posted on ebay a while back:

He was commanding a very healthy price, but what a lovely sculpture. There needs to be more resting theropods in general.

With Battat Rex colors.

I think it may be the lighting of that pic. The original is cast in bronze. Just found the ebay listing for the one I saw, which has some better pics: http://ebay.to/2rqL3y7

Yep the colors are more dull.
Also they are asking for a lot of money!! Although to be fair, it is cast in bronze.

Katieraptor

Oh wow, that's a ton of money!

I'll probably sculpt a resting theropod at some point!

The figure (it's a resin kit, of course) was made by Dinone Studio (China) / artist Tison Zhang / 2015 / and it's quite big ( 1:20).  8)

Urzeitshop had one since last year (painted by Vitali Klatt) / now it's out of stock.  :'(

It's pricey (1:20...  ::) ):

It would be ideal for a toy company to make that theropod in that position. In PVC figures the only one I have is Collecta's daspletosaurus.  :)

Lanthanotus

Well, it may be nice for collectors, but the play value in a reclining theropod is not what kids want I dare say :D

..that's why usually resin figures are for collectors and toys are for kids (or collectors with a young boy in their hearts  O:-) )...  ;)
