Meet Yunnanechinus luopingensis, a stem-echinoid* from the middle Triassic. Great fossil, and interesting implications for P-T boundary evolutionary dynamics.

*stem-echinoid means that it is more closely related to echinoids (sea urchins and sand dollars) than to any other living group of echinoderms, but that all living echinoids are more closely related to each other than to Yunnanechinus.
