Nice collection, especially the books! I was briefly dismayed to see all the dinosaurs in storage bins, but the last few photos showed that they are occasionally allowed to breathe freely :)

Thank you :)
This is temporary, at some time they will breathe freely, but I'm moving and need a display...

Life finds a way.

My girlfriend and me repainted these U.K.R.D Dinosaurs.
She painted the Allosaurus, I tried the Parasaurolophus and Stegosaurus.
What do you think? It was the first time we repainted models and it was fun!
But I realized mixing colors is very difficult. What can we improve?

Last but not least some awesome books.
I really like Dinosaur Imagery, Recreating an Age of Reptiles and Flying Dinosaurs.

Man, everything in life can be improved but the re-painted dinosaurs of U.K.R.D. They are very well painted, perhaps the colors are very conservative, but honestly I am in a certain way that the dinosaurs or prehistoric animals unless otherwise proven to be painted with rather uniform colors because they seem more realistic.

Anyway I think a high-grade improvement for you and your girlfriend repainted dinosaurs U.K.R.D and the truth I would like in my case to have those beautifully painted figures and not as I have presented in its original format. I congratulate you for your repainting and I have to specify that these figures have an incalculable sentimental value since I bought them when I was still young in 1993, in my case the company Simba sold them and I keep these figures a beautiful memory.  :)

W O W ! What a wonderful workplace and presentation of all your theropod dinosaurs! Congrats to a wonderful new home!
The dino calendar looks very cool and the two different pictures at your screen saver, too!

Fantastic theropod collection, I like the Rebor T-Rex, the "Fallen Queen"- Triceratops most and how very cute the baby T-Rexes
begging for food in front of the adults: Papa, Mum,...we are v e e e r y y y  hungryyy ! Please give us a piece of meat from the
"Fallen Queen", pl e e e a a a s e !

Your 3 repainted U.K.R.D. dinosaurs look great! What did you use for repainting? Revell colours or different materials?

I like the U.K.R.D. dinosaurs very much, I´ve a big collecrion of them in different sizes and from a few, their china bootlegs/fakies
copies, too! U.K.R.D. dinosaurs are heavy dino models in great detail, but unfortunately not very good paint jobs...

I agree with you, the dinosaurs of U.K.R.D are some figures even for good, pretty and cheap collectors, some are based on works of artists and paleoartists, for example the allosaurus of U.K.R.D. is a copy in toy version of John Sibbick's paleoartistic work. The same can be said of his parasaurolophus, which is based on the work of the aforementioned John Sibbick.

What they fail a lot are the details of paint and its rather rough texture.

I'm glad if you like our repaintings, there will be more soon ^-^
How can I avoid them to be sticky? Which finisher do you use?

We used acrylics, titanium white as primer.

This is even true in relation to the Stegosaurus.

Exactly these figures are inspired by the play stickartística of that nice book illustrated by John Sibbick by the way the book is titled illustrated encyclopedia of the dinosaurs of Doctor David Norman of the edition Salamander Books Ltd of 1985.  :)
