It's similar to what you'd predict based on phylogenetic position, but these fantastic specimens of Anchiornis show that their gizzards produced gastric pellets of indigestible material. This probably evolved as a way to avoid intestinal blockages but it also has the effect of reducing weight after a meal more quickly than if you pass the matter through the entire gut, and could be one way paravians were pre-adapted for flight.
