Reconstructing Phosphorosaurus

This team used the 2015 description of the holotype of Phosphorosaurus, comparison with other mosasaurs, and a little bit of fill-in from monitor lizards, along with modeling software, to reconstruct it in three dimensions. This is interesting because paleontologists often don't care very much about this sort of thing.


Coloration is influenced by the coelacanth, based on the interpretation of Phosphorosaurus as a mid-sized nocturnal predator.

Let's hope Favorite and Kaiyodo get a look at this.
