Sincerely the bajadasaurus is more spectacular than the amargasaurus, it has much more beautiful and rare spines.

For me, for example, elasmotherium is more spectacular than coelodonta antiquitatis, the same opinion I have regarding bajadasaurus with respect to amargasaurus, its defensive attributes are more beautiful.

This is an awesome find.

Just 2 tiny niggles:
1. The artist placed the nostrils near the eyes again.
2. I'm not sold on the idea of the spines being used for "passive defense" (although the authors of the study did try to properly explain why they thought the spines were used for defense)

Anyway, awesome sauropod is awesome.

Pretty cool find. Good to see another sauropod related to Amargasaurus with spines.

Well not to surprise any one but it's weird. I'm not sure if I buy the defense mechanism. I mean if I were a Giganotosaurus, (not sure if they met, just throwing out a name) I guess I wouldn't plan on biting it's neck.

Fantastic artist's rendition. Absolutely love when we find something out of the ordinary.

Syndicate Bias

We need Rebor or Papo or Eofauna or Shane Foulkes or Sean Cooper or Den Dao Yi or alot of other artists to get on this one fast!

I need this one  :P

A bajadasaurus on the part of PNSO would be exceptional would make a good team with its counterpart amargasaurus.  ;)

Like many people I'm not sure I buy the 'passive defence' thing. If there was enough of a fitness advantage for crazy spikes like these to be selected for, how did most species of Sauropod survive - nay, thrive! - without them? Judging from the skeletal restorations, the bony part of the spine also looks very brittle. To me, this looks more like a sexually selected trait - perhaps one that started off with a more directly beneficial purpose and then, over the generations, got exaggerated to outlandish proportions.

Regardless, this is a great find of a beautiful animal.
