Hey, I was just curious to see if any of you also enjoy listening to paleontology themed podcasts and if you have any recommendations ^-^ I love having them on in the background while I'm working on art. Here are my personal picks:

Love in the Time of Chasmosaurs- The Podcast
My absolutely FAVORITE podcast. Their mix of vintage paleoart discussion and interviews with current paleoartists is 100% up my alley. Each episode is best enjoyed with the supplementary web material, so you can look at the art they're discussing.

On the FOSSIL Record
This one is hosted by Jason Sherburn and Dean Lomax, but there are only a handful of episodes. There hasn't been a new one in about 2 years, but I understand they must be busy with other things (I know Dr Dean Lomax has written several books and was recently leading that ichthyosaur dig!)

Palaeocast
The obvious go-to for meaty interviews with specialists. While these contain loads of information, I sometimes find them hard to follow, or I should say, it doesn't always hold my attention. They can be incredibly dry and sometimes jargon-y. I'm just a casual layperson after all ^_^;;

Eons: Mysteries of Deep Time
A new podcast that's an offshoot of the great PBS Eons Youtube channel. Looking forward to more episodes from this one!

So, yeah! What podcasts are your favorites?

I'm a huge fan of the Common Descent podcast. The hosts, Will and David, are both paleontologists, and (more importantly) they're both excellent science communicators. Each episode has a theme, like a particular group of plants or animals, a specific biological adaptation, or an important fossil location, and you can tell they have a lot of fun making the show.

They also occasionally do fun stuff like talking about the science in scifi movies and games (they've done the Jurassic Park/World series, several kaiju movies, Pokemon games, and others), and around Halloween every year they make a couple of episodes on speculative evolution. I've been subscribed to their Patreon for a couple of years now because, honestly, I was feeling really bad about getting such a good show for free.

Thanks for the recommendation, I put on the first episode right now! It already sounds promising. I noticed a lot of other podcasts seemed kind of cringey and clickbaity, for lack of better adjectives, haha. I'm kind of picky, I guess, but this sounds good so far! ^-^

EDIT: Thank you, again! I'm loving the podcast so far. I was sold when they said happy birthday to Mewtwo xD Haha, but seriously, I get the impression that they're in my age group, which makes them easier to relate to, particularly in the humor apartment. They're great science communicators!

I've tried to listen to tetzoo a couple times and just couldn't get through it. I love Darren Naish's books and respect him, but I also find him kind of insufferable to listen to, lol.

Mellow Stego

I enjoy listening to I Know Dino. Pretty good weekly podcast with some great interviews and news.
Keep calm and love dinosaurs
