Quote from: Faelrin on March 27, 2025, 06:52:53 AMSo I just ordered the BotM Dilophosaurus from Everything Dinosaur. Saw on this reddit thread it's going to be discontinued/not restocked with the Cyberzoic release coming so close. Glad I get paid in a few days and had yet to hit any of the Mattel sales. Unfortunately I was trying to save up for the Gorgosaurus restock, and this will set me back some, maybe a month or two. But better now with this one I guess.

https://reddit.com/r/hammondcollection/comments/1jk5f9n/not_hammond_collection_but_how_often_does_botm/

Now the wait for it to arrive.

Do we have a Hammond Collection thread here on the DTF? There seems to be an appetite for one if there's a Reddit sub board dedicated to the line. Mattel's offerings are so expansive, maybe they deserve more threads or even a dedicated board?

The "New for 20__" threads have been sufficient for discussing Mattel toys up to this point. I don't think they need their own board. The impression I get is that while the Jurassic World toys are popular overall, their following on this forum is small. Maybe decicaded boards would change that?

What I would like to see are more Mattel categories on the blog and a Hammond Collection category would be a good start.

That's easy for me to implement, but I'm not familiar with the lines, so if someone can provide a summary list for me, I can add them!

That's what I'm thinking. All those Redditors should be here!

There are so many lines, I'm not sure this is a road you want to go down.  ::D I think the lines that should have their own categories include the Hammond Collection, Legacy Collection, and 93' Classic Collection but there are many more lines than that. Each movie has its own line, so you have Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World: Dominion, Jurassic World: Rebirth. Then there are lines for Chaos Theory and Camp Cretaceous. Then there are lines that were released between film like Epic Evolution, Dino-Trackers, Dino-Rivals, and Primal Attack. Then there are other non-mainline lines, like the Jurassic World: Reimagined, Snap Squad, Minis, Bite Club, etc. I collect them and still can't wrap my head around it all. avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin might be more useful in this regard, since he usually maintains the "New For" threads and does a thorough job with them. I don't think every line needs its own category but the Hammond Collection certainly should have one.

avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum Just take a stop by the DinoToyCollector site that I routinely update and you can see all the different lines over the years. Or the yearly Mattel threads post 2021 (except 2022's) that I've managed. It's a lot.

I've added categories for all the Jurassic World lines as per DinoToyCollector as you suggested. They all begin "Jurassic World..." So, reviewers can now allocate their reviews to the specific lines. But I can't say for certain all the lines are correctly named, or if the list on DTC is exhaustive, so you guys let me know if there's anything amiss.

I started to allocate the reviews on the front page and immediately encountered issues:

"Roarin' Real Feel" This is not in the DTC list. Is this a line, or just a tagline?

"Jurassic World Legacy Collection Reimagined" Is this line different to Jurassic World Legacy Collection?

"Captivz Build N' Battle Dinos" This is not in the DTC list.

This is why I don't like copying lists and prefer to generate my own from primary sources (when I have the knowhow, which I don't for Jurassic World). avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi is right, this might be a road we regret going down, but let's give it a try!

Reimagined is the new Target Legacy line.  Products are :

Jurassic World Legacy Collection Reimagined Roarin' Real Feel Carnotaurus Action Figure
Jurassic World Electronic Real Feel Indominus Rex, Reimagined Dinosaur Action Figure Toy

The names aren't exactly always helpful as they seem to pick and choose what key words are applied on Target's site.

Jurassic World Legacy Collection Reimagined Roarin' Real Feel Carnotaurus Action Figure
Jurassic World Electronic Real Feel Indominus Rex, Reimagined Dinosaur Action Figure Toy

I'm still struggling to pick apart the brand/line names from the blurb, I'll need my hand holding through this if I'm to add reusable categories to the blog.  :||

Looking at my own small collection, there are also (what look like) sub-lines of main lines.

For example, I have an Elasmosaurus that would be categorised as
"Jurassic World" and "Jurassic World Dino Trackers", but it also says "Gigantic Trackers" on the box.

And I have a Tanystropheus that would be categorised as
"Jurassic World" and "Jurassic World Dino Escape", but it also says "Fierce Force" on the box, so it is also "Jurassic World Fierce Force".

So, a simple list isn't going to cut it. I need a nested classification, like so:

Jurassic World
       Jurassic World Dino Trackers
                Jurassic World Gigantic Trackers
       Jurassic World Dino Escape
                Jurassic World Fierce Force

etc.

Captivz is from Toymonster not Mattel, hence why it is isn't present in that list. Unfortunately I still need to add the rest of the 2024 ones there.

I'd say the major Mattel Jurassic World ones are:
-Fallen Kingdom (2018)
-Legacy Collection (2018 and on)
-Battle Damage (2018-2020)
-Dino Rivals (2019)
-Amber Collection (2019-2021)
-Primal Attack/Camp Cretaceous (2020 and 2021)
-Dino Escape (2021)
-Dominion (2022)
-Hammond Collection (2022 and on)
-Dino Trackers (2023)
-93 Classic (23 and 24)
-Epic Evolution (2024)
-Chaos Theory and Rebirth (2025)

There's others like the minis (2018 and on) which might be worthwhile, but the rest are minor sub lines and I'm not sure if they have enough reviews or interest to need a tag for.

Legacy Collection Reimagined is a merge of the Legacy Collection with the 93 Classic line. May as well just stick with the Legacy Collection tag as there's only 3 releases under it currently.

Things like Attack Pack, Roarivores, Gigantic Trackers etc are just name designations for the size and type of the figure in the mainline. It's why I have them listed in the figure's notes on DTC, or little mini lists in my yearly threads here, but they are still kept to the main theme of the year (like this year's Chaos Theory, and upcoming Rebirth). Important to mention in a review, but not something to need a tag for, as the above ones listed are the major yearly mainline releases, and a few others like Legacy Collection and Hammond Collection.

Edit: I was trying to post this the same time you were lol.

Thanks. Then let's just keep the main lines, then. We can add more in the future if needed.

A little late to the discussion today but I think that's the way to go. I can allocate my own reviews and let you know if I run into any issues.
