somewhere iv read that a huge amount of fossils were lost during the bone wars...and also they mentioned in another book that some of the huge bones collected crumbled into pieces while being on transport to the museums ...i thought the fossils cope and marsh collected made it to either the peabody,Smithsonian or new york nhm and are in storage rooms, with a select few on display..but i do know some were destroyed back then ,but others seem to have been lost entirely...have any been to the storage rooms in these major museums to view the collections from that era?
