Tupandactylus head crest shape

The head crest of Tupandactylus was changed from concave at the rear (like on the Safari Tapejara figure) to convex in profile a few years ago in light of new information.  This article from 2022 has nice artwork in it showing an altogether different shape;  sort of an inverse question mark rear profile to the crest.  Is this the new way the crest is thought to have been,  or simply one artist's interpretation?

It seems it is the result of a new specimen, which was preserved with such, and published only last year. Here's the paper that was linked at the bottom of the article going into detail about the new evidence. Great to know that both species have been found with extensive soft tissue remains.

so does this mean the convex rear crest shape is now considered incorrect and out of date or is the implication that the shape of the crest was highly variable from specimen to specimen in T. imperator?

The soft tissue in the paper appears to have multiple splits and indentations, perhaps they were ragged or variable with age, or this could even be postmortem? Perhaps it was simply indented in ways that look random or were highly variable, like chickens.

hm, interesting.  I'm going to rework my Safari Tapejara crest into something that is more 'accurate'.  Not sure how to proceed now...with the newer convex rear profile or this most recent wavy edged profile..
