Halichoeres

Most belemnites are known only from their mineralized rostra, but a few, like Passaloteuthis, have soft parts preserved. Based on those, this study tries to reconstruct what Megateuthis, the largest known belemnite, would have looked like when alive. We might have been looking at a belemnite two or three meters long, huge for a group of animals that were usually less than half a meter long.
