Hi there! My name is Eric, and I am new to the forum! I am an international student from China currently studying in the U.S. Many of my collections, consisting primarily of large-scale theropods, came from respected paleo-sculptors and painters from China and were shipped internationally to me when finished. One of my favorite artists putting out high-quality sculpts slowly but consistently is Tsion Zhang, known by some collectors as 蘑菇🍄. Zhang has decades of experience in sculpture.

Recently finished by Wnbb, my friend in China, this remarkable piece features Zhang's 2024 depiction of the Allosaurus. Taken from the Documentary Walking with Dinosaurs , Zhang's frame captures the allosaurus at its last breath, with multiple injuries impairing its mobility, including infected wounds that most likely took the animal's life. The allo is shown to set its last gaze upon the remains of its predecessor, whose fate Big Ale will soon share.

Although I am delighted with how the paint job turned out overall, I am actually considering changing the scheme to adopt a warmer tone with higher saturation. I would be happy to know what you guys think of the matter. Which one do you think is better, and why?

Welcome to the forum!  Zhang does indeed produce some wonderful models, although I don't count any among my resins.  I much prefer the original colder colour scheme.  It seems to suit much better the scenario of a dying dinosaur.  The warmer, sunlit tones are too optimistic.  But that is merely my opinion - you are the owner and it is what you prefer that matters!

That's a very impressive piece. I also prefer the original, but I agree that you should do what you like best!
