Northern Tyrannosaur

Hey everyone. Due to winter's last gasp of stubborn life here in the midwest I haven't been able take any new shots or do any custom work. Today wit the weather reaching ~40 degrees I was able to do a few with some of my recent figures. The first was taken a while ago, but its my first ever dio/photo of any of my Dinosaur figures. I really just wanted it as the first shot in my thread lol.

Kaiyodo Sci Fi Revoltech "The Lost World" Tyrannosaurus (Great Plains repaint)

Favorite Co. Ltd Spinosaurus (modded pose and removed spikes, mold line work, up next for repaint) with AAA Baby Sawfish (standing in as Onchopristis, almost perfect size, if a bit large) I felt a bit divided busting this one up to stand in as a carcass.. but painting the blood was kinda fun.

I of course bought two of them so I would have more options for shots in the future.
"With prey plentiful, Spinosaurus can afford to be wasteful" -John Hurt, Planet Dinosaur

More to come! ^-^
"Instinct drove him forward, pride held his head up. The strength in his legs and the air in his lungs never wasted. All before him feared the flash of his jaws. There was only one King of the Great Plains."

I finally got my hands on my first Papo figure. It had to be my favorite, the T.rex. I spent the last two days taking a few shots around my house and trying to cheat perspective to give him that size boost.

Once more figures come you can expect even more exciting shots!

Nice photos - a piece of advice though:

You have got to try to shoot where there is no grass or alternatively mow it down to the bone.  Nothing destroys the illusion of size faster than seemingly gigantic grass shoots.

The other key (which you did nicely in a couple of shots) is to shoot from ground level, up at the animal.  After all, this is the perspective we would see if we were standing level with a 15-foot tall TRex....

Great pics! The Papo T.rex photographs really well!

Paleogene Pals

Great pics! Keep up the good work, but, as Simon said, find a less grassy area for your shoots. However, while some people would be looking up to see the T-rex, I would see it in the distance as I was running for my life!

Today I took a trip out to a small park in my neighborhood. There is a beautiful river, moss and fallen trees there. After a good rain this morning everything came to life and the river was nice and high.

This is one of my favorites from the day. Papo Brachiosaurus in the shallows.

Papo Triceratops vs Papo Running T.rex. Another good shot at the top of the small falls from the last shot.

Safari Ltd. Velociraptor. One of my favorite figures and one of their best from their lines. Two packmates atop a fallen tree.

Papo Brachiosaurus and Triceratops enjoy each other's company down river.

A Safari Velociraptor tails them.

A near escape!

Papo T.rex surveying the river bank.

There's only one king of this jungle.

Once I get more figures I plan to travel out more. I have a buddy with lots of farm land and good wilderness to use. More to come!

Nice perspectives and in the shot with the Barch and Triceratops crossing the river, nice!  Way to use the water to convey movement.

Thanks a lot! It unfortunately wouldn't come out sharply no matter how I tried. I took that same shot at least 10 times. The poor lighting gave no quarter and so it came out unfocused :/

Nice photograph, the first photo is my favorite  :)

Another trip out to the river today. Fell into the river a few times. Very odd placed stones to crouch on over deep pools. The falls in particular was a nightmare.

Papo T.rex roars over the falls to reinforce its territorial claim.

Two "Deinonychus" (Safari Velociraptors) corner a lone "Sauroposeidon" (Papo Brachiosaurus) at the crossing.

The same raptors attempt something drastic

Papo T.rex bellows a challenge to its prey

The same rex surveys the far bank and wanders back towards its home.

It really is. There's still a whole lot of terrain I haven't visited due to limitations in transportaion but look forward to many more near here!

Great photos! My favorites are the last two ones with the T.rex in the shallow water, good work! I think you can go even lower with the point of view to make it look bigger. :)

Its a battle. Because I am literally in the water with them. My camera isn't water proof and it is literally a millimeter above the water's surface in almost all of the river shots lol but I will try.
