Long shot.... does anyone have any of the rare Ovomaltine, Yoplait or Henkel figures for sale or trade. I have some rare items for potential trade for the much rarer items or cold hard cash. Fingers crossed.

Never heard of either of these companies.Do you have more information?

From the collectible view they may all be raisins in your pudding, but hell, there are some real fugly ones.

Nevertheless, I wish good luck on hunting them down.

Halichoeres

Thanks for the link, Lanthanotus. That Scolosaurus is hilarious. The "Pterichthys" isn't too bad, though!

That Allosaurus is going to give me nightmares, thanks a lot ;D Although some of the prehistoric mammals have a very "Charles Knight painting come to life" feel, and Halichoeres is right, the "Pterichthys" doesn't look too bad.

Thanks,

They are awesome! Monochrome, vintage: I want some! Especially the non-dinosaurs.

Interesting.  I never knew Yoplait was into manufacturing toys.  Who would've thunked it?!

Over 200 dollars! Look for how much their Diplocaulus went!!!

Wonder if there are some forgers out there, doin' those figures, taking in account how easy such comparably crude monocromes could be copied. There's a big Kinder Surprise Collector's community in Germany and it seems failry common, that you could come across a forged vintage figure. Dinosaurs may not have as much collectors as Kinder Surprise toys, but damn, 200 bucks is a word.

And to be sure, while some are really ugly (Scolosaurus and Allosaurus in particular) some have their charme and/or are even somewhat accurate. Myself grown up with the pictures of Burian or Knight, I would have loved the Pteranodon, Mammoth or Iguanodon.

I guess they didn't produce them theirselves, but let them manufacture (for example by their packaging producer), considering the figures are all the same, just vary in color and stamped brand.

Very interesting retro figures! Never heard of these, but surprised at their species range, off as it may be.

This news also means that Endothiodon is off the Unique Species List.  ;)

As always, two keen collectors will push the price up. From memory a forum member placed a high late snipe (probably way higher than they really wished to pay) and matched the others high holding bid (which was probably higher than where they wished to go).

Par price is £20 - £50 (higher for rarer figures).
