Firstly; I couldn't stand the 'musical' accompaniment, so I turned the sound off... but on just the visuals... aesthetically, those monsters look infinitely better than they would if they'd been created with CGI. The designs of the lizard and turtle ones in the second video are awesome, that is what a modern remake of Destroy All Monsters should look like. It's such a shame that so many film-makers still haven't come to terms with the fact that digital imagery will never be as cinematic as practical effects, and for the most part we have to look to independent productions like this to find more affecting visual fantasy.

That was really neat. I'm pretty sure I'll always love practical effects over CGI any day, and things like this just help to cement that further for me. It seemed to have a Destroy All Monsters feel to it to me, as well. I also like how the tortoise thing eats at the end, since it reminds me of how my turtle eats.
