Most of us know the current Colorata dinosaur boxes. They had a boxed set in 2004 that's a little rarer and more sought after. But before that, they made a set of Safari Authentics knockoffs:

I've seen these dinos in various Japanese lots, but I got a complete set recently in the box. Here's the label:

Unmistakably Colorata. Comes with 2 each of the dinos in the second and third Safari Authentics (aka mini Carnegie) sets:

Elasmosaurus
Velociraptor
Styracosaurus
Dimetrodon
Spinosaurus
Iguanodon
Protoceratops
Dilophosaurus
Allosaurus
Euoplocephalus
Diplodocus
Pteranodon

Also comes with two rocks and two cheap palm trees. Colorata has come a long way from this.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Interesting, I didn't know this. You wouldn't tell from Colorata these days that they had such a shady start.
