That's cutting it close considering how old the Earth is (or at least what the current calculation is). Wow though. That is a pretty awesome find. Interesting points raised at the end of the article too. I love thinking about that kind of stuff really.

I, for some reason was wondering earlier today about 'What is the oldest known organism in the fossil record?'. I ignored this thought for most of my until I saw this thread.
