I finally finished my Temnodontosaurus in 24th scale that I started in March 2018. The body is Super Sculpey baked clay over aluminum foil. The fins are FOR SALE sign plastic card reinforced with strong steel wire and Apoxie. And she has glass eyes. Temmy is 14.5 inches long which makes her twenty-nine feet in real life.

This is my second attempt at using Sculpey. It took so long to finish because I did not know for a few years that the Krylon primer that I used eats even baked Sculpey. So I would get the model all ready for painting and then hit it with primer. After giving the primer time to cure I would begin to paint and then I would see cracks that weren't there before. So I putty-sand-and-repeat and prime it again. Then I would see new cracks. Back and forth that went for a year until I bought a book on sculpting animals in polymer clay. Flipping through it I saw warnings about using automotive primers on baked clay --- Oy! So I bought some Stynylrez acrylic primer for my airbrush and I was able to finish her.

What do you think?

Very original paint scheme, really like it. Especially the white head and thee transition into brown adds to the streamlined body.

The temnodontosaurus has been great for you if you were to produce one even in resin format for sale you would have a sure buyer on my part.

She is a beauty.

And thanks for the warning about automotive primer on polymer clay.

It looks very professional.  A very effective colour scheme too.

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

It is awseome and unique. For sculpting, did you have to make any scales or skin texture or was it smooth. I not good at making scales due to my limited tools and im trying to look for a project to work on without lots of work for texture.
