Halichoeres

Meet Thliptosaurus imperforatus, (Gr. 'unpunctured compressed lizard'), a new dicynodont from the uppermost Permian of South Africa. It's worth clicking through to the paper to check out the phylogenetic analysis, if for no other reason than to drive home how many dicynodont taxa there are. It's a truly huge group.
