Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs

This exciting exhibit is presently at the Canadian Museum of Nature until September 2. I went there with my wife and our toddler on Father's Day, meaning I didn't have a chance to examine or read everything in detail. But I did make sure to take a heap of photos!

Greeting visitors at the entrance is a Tropeogathus.

This exhibiton looks amazing, thanks for sharing the photos! I really hope we get more pterosaurs in the future from Safari and other companies (I wish CollectA starts making standard sized ones, not only supreme) they are very interesting creatures.

And take a look at this little fellow in the play area! Bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain CollectA product, now don't he? I checked in the gift shop, but despite the wide assortment of plush pterosaurs, this one was not among them. Strange. Anyway, in addition to plush toys, there was a decent selection of Safari toys, including a few of the 2019 ones. I nabbed the Pteranodon and the Stegosaurus.

Unfortunately they went with the old "skimmer" hypothesis for those Thalassodromeus models, which at least Mark Witton has argued heavily against, and I think even some of the original authors have abandoned the idea.

Amazing! I saw it three times, twice here in LA and once in San Francisco. The models are amazing, and the diversity of casts on display was really good to see, considering how far away the original specimens are...

Ah, the good old Fiesta Toys plush Guidraco. It does seem to owe a lot to the CollectA.
