Based on reexamination of the dermal skull bones of the stem-lungfish Durialepis edentatus, and CT scans of its braincase, this paper does a thorough reconstruction of its head, shedding some light on how lungfish skulls evolved. They're pretty derpy now, but get a load of this mug:
