Hi,
my next diorama is finished.
I had some big issues...it was my first epoxy-resin try.
I made some mistakes...but in the end it´s ok for the first try I think.

My 1/35 scale Underwater Diorama MEGALODON_The_Whalekiller .
(Royal Model Snorkel Girl, Mojo & Safari Grey whales, PNSO Patton The Megalodon, EPODEX Pro epoxy resin, vallejo liquid water/waves texture)
*the water/waves texture is fresh, it will get a bit more transparent.

Story:
A 13m MEGALODON take a deathstrike on one juvenil of a grey whale school.
One juvenile managed to outmaneuver the enormous shark,
while the other one is seriously injured by one massive bite.
The mother pulls out with a powerful swing to ram the hunter from his prey.
The water foams up from the fight...
... what would it look like when Ocean Ramsey dives with whales and suddenly a monster several times more massive than deep blue appears.

The diorama of the megalodon has been very realistic for you, they almost look like real marine animals.

Thx that was my aim. Make it look even a bit lifelike & giving the spectator and to give the viewer an impression of the violence and actual size. Next to it the two 18cm teeth.

Very impressive display, it must have taken quite a lot of time to apply all these layers of epoxie!

Only thing that took me out was the sexy diver. Would have been a great opportunity to paint her like the opening scene victim from JAWS. It would have been funny to have her there in this dramatic fight scene instead of a random hot chick.

A stunning diorama you've made here. I'm curious what epoxy you used, and especially how you did the wave action at the top...

thx

I used Epodex pro +

the waves or foam is vallejo water texture gelly.

for real waves (big ones) it is better to use a negative form of the wave (clay or silicon) and put epoxy in it, let it harden and then ad it to the surface.
I tried it but the expoy destroyed my kind of clay...it runs out.

The i used the gelly...it´s ok , it´s more small waves an foam. And you can still see through from above.

Amazing work, stunning diorama! It is a shame we don´t have a contest this year. This one would have been a hot candidate for the winner.

SidB

A stunning and dynamic production. I look forward to future creations on your part.

indohyus

An excellent piece! You've done brilliantly, that is one of the best dioramas I've seen in ages.

For a first try you did a fantastic job in my opinion. It looks great.

Bokisaurus

Amazing diorama! Its so clear that you can't see the layers at all. You should do one with marine reptiles next! Great job!

PrimevalRaptor

This is an amazing diorama, I love the water surface especially!
Adding the diver for scale is also a really neat idea. :D

Fenestra

Wow! That looks amazing! That tail sticking out of the ocean is very well thought out.
It breaks the square of the diorama and gives it another extra dimension.

Bravo!

Very well done. I can't help wondering how much it weighs!

Awesome Work! Thanks for sharing. Wow, bubblefree at first try. I always want to try Resin, but i am too afraid it will go to the Bin in the End. Really nice!
