Tyrannosaurus specimens and figures

Tyrannosaurus rex is known for more or less tirty specimens, which in some cases are quite complete (even if a 100% complete Tyrannosaurus has not be found yet). Among the most complete specimens there is quite a variability in the shape of the head, and I remember reading that Battat v1 was explicitely based on AMNH 5027. I think it's quite plausible, since before the late '90 it was the better known specimen. More recently the throne has been taken by "Stan" (BHI 3033) and "Sue" (FMNH PR 2081), and I think this has reflected on the models, with more Tyrannosaurus showing the sightly upturned snout of "Sue". Do you know if any model (like the Carnegie, the new Safari, the Battat v2) is referrable to a specific specimen?

Now what John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park is create genetically engineered theme park monsters, nothing more and nothing less."

AMNH 5023
L @Leyster I think you mean AMNH 5027.

If I recall correctly, the JP Tyrannosaurus is based on that specimen, so literally all those toys would count.

Yeah, sorry, I mean 5027.

Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus is definitely based on AMNH 5027, but the design was changed during the production of the movie to make it "more marketable" and making it more or less a movie monster (there was an old PT article about the issue, by Mark Hallett I think), so I don't think it really counts.

Yeah, something about copyrighting designs...which did not work out at all, given all those imitations out there.  You know, the whole copyrighted design is actually I could see some company doing in-universe in the Jurassic Park/World films.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

The new Carnegie tyrannosaurus appears to be based on CM 9380.

I tought so, but the mandible doesn't look like it has the strange chin of CM 9380. On the other hand, the upturned snout of the old red one reminds me of Sue.

Found this thread on the Dinosaur Mailing List http://dml.cmnh.org/1999Aug/msg00043.html. So Battat v3 is supposed to be Stan? What do you think?
