Camp Cretaceous at McDonald's!

So, looks like Collect Jurassic posted their article on these September Happy Meal toys and books way back in mid-August, but I just caught it last week. I haven't found any discussion on our forum. Here is the link:

Four mini dinosaur action figures (Bumpy, Toro, Rexy, and a Trike) and four mini dino activity/fact books are available right now at US McDonald's.

Over the past few days I've visited three local restaurants and was able to fairly easily get three of the different figures and three different books at the drive-thru by calling ahead or asking as I ordered. They'll sell you just the figures and books if you ask ($1.99 for each figure and $1.99 each book), and depending on the person, they'll pick out the ones you're looking for, if they have them.

Distribution seems a bit spotty, one place only had one type of dino or book, one didn't have the books at all. One place had Bumpy, Trike, and Rex. Of course I want Toro the most, but haven't found him (or they just couldn't find him when I asked).

The toys come in cool little different colored plastic eggs with the T. rex skull logo stamped on the front of the egg, and on the feet of the toys (the same logo stamped on the feet of all the Mattel figures). The Happy Meal box itself is also quite cool with the Camp Cretaceous branding, and the gate on the box is perforated and can be opened up.

The books are neat, nicely produced for their size and excellent for the kids. My main misgiving here is that Mosasaurus is featured in the "Big Dinosaurs" book, where it is directly referred to as a huge "dinosaur" that swims. Oh well, hopefully the four-year-olds won't register that part! Otherwise ok information, some maze activities, a paper T. rex to put together, and Big Dinos also has a pop-up Apatosaurus.

Anyone else hunting these Happy Meals? When was the last time we got JP/JW stuff at McDonald's?

I'm been hunting them down as well. I'm only missing Bumpy, Toro, and the Triceratops now.

Apparently the McDonalds in Korea are getting more toys, including the Brachiosaurus, Indominus rex, Blue, and Baryonyx. I guess G-Market or ebay may be the best for those.

Hey, that's cool to know the promotion will be international, and that are four more dinosaur figures in the set! I probably won't go out of my way to track the others down, though. Probably would have if one was a Parasaur 

Just acquired Toro from my nearest McD's by calling ahead and being specific, and after they found it they actually offered to hold him under my name until I could drive by just now to pick it up at the drive thru. Have to say, I've overall quite impressed by their customer service on this matter. Not sure if I will try to track down the last book now to complete the set. Maybe. I might at least try to get a second empty Happy Meal box for diorama purposes!

Germany currently has something called Teenie Beanie Boos, which are are some plushies with glowing eyes. No sign of Camp Cretaceous yet.

Well looks like Japan is getting the Stegosaurus, Pteranodon, and Brachiosaurus. Not sure if it is just these or more. So that's a total of ten toys to hunt down so far.

Oh nice, I like the international effort to promote the new Camp Cretaceous stuff.

That Stegosaurus is pretty good. I think Bumpy might be the best one though, because his proportions are already so exaggerated for the show and it is scaled nicely to the Mattel figures.

If anyone is interested in the Japanese exclusive (so far?) Pteranodon, and Stegosaurus (they are also getting the T. rex, Bumpy, Triceratops, and Brachiosaurus), I figured I would pass it along here that @brettnj is taking pre-orders of them.


Edit: May as well edit this but apparently there will be a Parasaurolophus and Stygimoloch as well. No idea where those will release.
