Hello everybody!

I'm new on this forum and wanted to introduce myself here :-) My name is Johannes, i live in Southern Germany. Dinosaurus came into my life before i went to school, before Jurassic Park. My first movie that i can remember having watched in cinema was Lost World JP. I started to collect the action figures and i was overwhelmed by the Thrasher T-Rex that was my present for my 11th birthday. Later i could complete my JP1 collection through ebay. I can't tell how many hours i stared at the Rex on the backside of the JP action figure cards...and i was kind of disappointed when i realized that the model on the photo was a stand-in (Stan Winston maquettte).
With the new company Papo my collection grew and grew... i also collect Safari, Schleich, Collecta, Rebor,... i often read reviews before buying new figures, like here on DTF. A friend of mine started the great page "dinotoycollector" which is also very helpful.
A few years ago i started to sculpt Dinosaur models, you can find my creations on instagram @palaeopart and on Etsy (Shop Palaeopart). I hope i can learn some things here about sculpting, materials, techniques, dinosaur anatomy,... I'm looking forward to getting in contact with you :-)

Have a nice day, c u ;-)

Johannes

Hi Johannes, It is great to see you. Trust me, you made a great decision. I joined about a year and half ago, and since then I gained so many friends. I am glad to welcome you to this social paradise for dinosaur lovers.

Have fun, friend!

Guten Tag auch ;-) Thank you! I collected some fossils here and there, when i went to school and university. I also spent a few weeks in the Museums of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart and the DinoPark Münchehagen where i could help preserving some of the footprints that can be found there. This was really a great experience! Oh and one wonderful week near Eichstätt in Bavaria. Now i don't really have the time for fossil hunting, i went over to sculpting :-)

JOHANNES!!! So you finally registered on the DTF? Welcome!
This is the man who brought me back to collecting Dinosaur Toys 15(?) years ago. I don't know if you know this - but you told me about the Papo figures during our community service time and I bought them all lol.

I @Indiana Joe , Have a great time over here :)

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

I begin to understand: the world of "dinonerds" is big.... and small at the same time, you know 😉

Thanks! I often use that name on the internet....it's kind of a tradition. And it was the name of a good dog 😅

Hello, nice to meet you here, Mr Dinotoycollector and Mr Wildpast 😎. Still unbelievable that you made so much out of this hobby and that we try to talk in English 😅. And after all these years it is now myself who is collecting your dinosaur figures.
