Machairodus is a prehistoric sabre-toothed cat and has already been discovered. Machairodus is a genus of large saber-toothed cat that lived in Africa, Eurasia and North America, and is an ancient relative of the best-known saber-toothed cat Smilodon.
But a new species of Machairodus has been discovered, named M. lahayishupup. The newly-identified cat lived in what is now North America between 5.5 and 9 million years ago (Miocene epoch).

One of my favorite prehistoric cats. Good to see another species that has been discovered.

Sure would be great if companies finally began making toys of prehistoric felids other than Smilodon. Machairodus would be great, but so would Homotherium, Barbourofelis, Dinofelis, and Panthera atrox.

What's really cool is the size of this cat it's huge.
