While browsing the Paleontology section of my local McKays used-stuff superstore, I stumbled upon this book.

The author is Teruhisa Tajima, originally published in Japan by Kadowkawa Shoten Publishing in 1994. This is the '95 English language reprint, by Chronicle Books.

My first thought was "that's the Kaiyodo Dinoland Camarasaurus." Flipping through the book one discovers some nice images of mostly Kaiyodo vinyl dinosaurs photoshopped into various backgrounds, some natural, others urban.

On the data plate, Kaiyodo is credited for supplying 'dinosaur images', and 'original dinosaur design' credits are shared by Shinobu Matsumura, Kazunari Araki and the author.

It has a sort of self-published flavor to it, which adds to the charm of the 30+ year old dinosaur restorations pasted into landscape photos.

This is my new favorite coffee table conversation starter.

I have this book too and I've had it since around 94-95. A lot of my childhood stuff is gone but there was no way I was gonna part with this book. It's with me for life.
