Hopefully it won't be as limited as "Kiss".

And I do wish Rebor would make living representations of their corpse/prey species... Tenontosaurus, Appalachiosaurus, Nigersaurus.
To this day the only Rebor product I own is "Monty", none of their dinosaur products atm interested me in the slightest.

Quote from: SenSx on July 27, 2022, 11:33:13 AMWow finally, my most anticipated purchase of this year.

This is a more natural tone, and I guess they will match the hatchling colors with the swamp version, if so, it will be very hard to choose.

Sarchosuchus might be coming at the end of the year as well.

Really? So sarcosuchus can be marketed before the end of the year? That would be great. I would add it to my Christmas shopping list. At last it would be a magnificent deinosuchus and sarcosuchus the best ever made by any toy dinosaur company. PNSO and Rebor are my two favorite dinosaur companies along with Collecta and Safari.

I haven't been interested in Rebor's releases lately but finally seeing the Deinosuchus is so exciting! I hope the Sarcosuchus isn't too far behind..

Flaffy

Watch as it gets cancelled with no announcement like Lonesome George O:-)

In all seriousness I do hope this and the Sarcosuchus see the light of day.

Lol no, with the promotion going on, it's too far for being cancelled.
Plus I think Rebor made quite a good amount of money with their successfull recent releases, they can afford a more niche figure, but I could be wrong.

I remember they said Deinosuchus and Sarchosuchus were both planned for the end of the year, but I could be wrong as well here.
I'm not sure about buying the Sarchosuchus though, I still love the Safari one.

It's amazing seeing this get ever closer to being available to order, after years since it's initial inception, much like the Titanoboa before it.

And here's the swamp variant, this one blows the other away!
This colour scheme to me, looks like it's a cross between a leopard frog and a saltwater crocodile which looks unique and fantastic! The estuary variant is also amazing but I much prefer this colouration.

Oh I'm not too sure, I think I expected something else from the second variant.
I prefer the first one, even if it's not as complex.
An easy choice for me.

Maybe we can see the painted Sarcosuchus now please Rebor ?

It's definitely an improvement on previous renders, but I'm still a little annoyed by the extraneous claws on the forefeet.

I'm kinda on the swamp side as I find it a more unique colour scheme on a crocodylomorph.
They are both great however.

Carnoking

Estuary. I like the color of the Appalachiosaurus more on that one  ;)

Quote from: Faelrin on November 02, 2022, 12:50:30 AMNow to decide on what color I want more. What are you folks leaning on?

I'm leaning towards "Estuary" at the moment. I feel that "Swamp" is a hair too bright, and the lighter tones is more fitting for something like Sarcosuchus (Planet Dinosaur and Chased by Dinosaurs reconstructions of Sarcosuchus are stuck in my head). Though I think I have to see Sarcosuchus's colour scheme(s) before being able to make a final decision, as I do plan to get both species. I guess I just want my copies of the Sarcosuchus and Deinosuchus to have noticeablely contrasting colour schemes. So a darker Deinosuchus and a lighter Sarcosuchus would work perfectly, or vice versa.

Based on where their respective fossils were found, Sarcosuchus lived mostly in freshwater environments, while Deinosuchus would've frequented brachish-water bays. So while "Estuary" definitely has the more fitting name, "Swamp" is rather reminiscent of saltwater crocodiles. So there's that.

Finally! Been worried about these, and I was hoping they wouldn't face a cancellation.

I am definitely placing a preorder on the Swamp variant. I like the colors a lot more, I feel as though both are completely natural. Although, I do preder rhe brighter green.

Faelrin

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy I really like that idea you got there. Well hopefully something like that will come along. I think the Estuary version is more similar to the American Alligator right?

I'm just very glad to see these make it to the day of light. This has been in development hell as nearly as long as the Titanoboa, if not longer. Same with the King Trident Triceratops recently too.

For what it's worth---from Wiki:

"The distribution of Deinosuchus specimens indicates these giant crocodilians may have preferred estuarine environments..."

SenSx

I don't like the swamp version, it has too much contrast on it.
I would prefer if it was just more colorfull as a whole, but not like that, although I  understand the purpose to give it a "camouflage" effect on the creature.
I'm getting the darker one for sure.

I'm curious about their Sarcosuchus, but I still have the lovely Safari model, although the size difference between the Rebor and the Safari is jarring.

Yes, looks to be based off the American alligator with the flank banding. I personally really love RJ Palmer and Fred's reconstructions of Deinosuchus, and both utilise a dark colour scheme. Estuary certainly looks the part.

And I agree with avatar_SenSx @SenSx that Swamp's colours are just a bit too contrasting, and too vibrant/saturated. Feels like something you'd see on a young/hatchling crocodile rather than a mature individual that's been worn and torn over the years. Especially with something as large as Deinosuchus.

I've expressed before that the only Rebor products that interest me personally are their non-dinosaur offerings. And this Deinosuchus is certainly no exception. Glad to see it finally getting released with a fresh sculpt. Far superior to their original dinosaurian-like headsculpt.
