I haven't pre-ordered any of these, and despite being behind on some for a while now, for once I don't have FOMO with Mattel's stuff as these are stocked well and in many places, after they do show up. I do hope to get more next month (at least Ceratosaurus and Triceratops).

The only figures I've been having trouble getting are the Walmart Extreme Damage figures. My Walmart is still carrying wave 1 stuff. I NEED to find the Quilmesaurus and Genyodectes.

C @CarnotaurusKing The Diabloceratops has an open jaw, although I don't believe it is an articulated one. I know it isn't a big deal that the HC Triceratops doesn't, but a disappointing missed opportunity.

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi Agree with you on those. Haven't had luck with those either (or copter set). At the very least I want Atrociraptor Tiger but I do like Genydectes too (I know fragmentary animal, but I like the funky sculpt and color, and it is nice to have another ceratosaur in the line). I think Tiger was at least available online as was the Pyroraptor. Might need to keep checking to see if the others go on stock online as well.

That's what appeals to me about the Genydectes too, it's a cool looking toy. Best of luck to the both of us.

Nyrorosaurus

The Pachy is nice! Probably the best of the small HC dinos. Don't love the articulated jaw, but I can forgive that for the relatively proportionate feet.

I forgot to share these earlier so here they are. Will share them in the 2022 thread as well. Links to the Walmart Extreme Damage figures:
-Atrociraptor Tiger
-Pyroraptor

The older figures (Allosaurus, Coelurus, Dimetrodon, and Velociraptor) are all still available as well.

Package shot of the Pachycephalosaurus. I love that 30th anniversary logo.

That 30th logo is pretty sweet. I have high expectations for next year with it being the 30th anniversary.

Primeval12

Looks like they're jacking up the prices, at least here in the US. Very frustrating.

Yeah it's definitely frustrating (especially since I'm trying to keep things at a limit each month, all the while being behind on a bunch). Especially when they've gone and done it on older releases for no apparent reason. And all the budget cutting costs too (lack of paint apps), makes it even more glaringly noticeable. Kind of relieved there's less I actually want come 2023.

Also minor thing, but I noticed some of the paint apps are a little bit inaccurate on the Pachycephalosaurus. Particularly the teal markings on the legs. Agree with avatar_MLMjp @MLMjp that the markings should also be less teal as well, and a bit more blue (like on the 2018 Legacy Collection figure). It should be similar to how the Kenner figure did it (which granted was done back in the day, and probably had an easier time with being able to reference things, but still). It's still pretty good looking, but I feel like a little more attention to detail would have been better. But as what's happened with the Velociraptor (Blue's head sculpt, huge feet, and the coloration), Parasaurolophus (wide head, and JW film coloration), Gallimimus (JW viral site render coloration), Triceratops (no mouth articulation), this feels like the norm now, ignoring any mainline stuff that also came before that may have been slightly off at times. Though I do think this one's issues are much easier to look pass then on those others.

Edit: Here's another really good image. Jurassic Vault has more.

Blue still looks too teal. Also that first finger looks way too thumb like...

So, since this has the 30th anniversary logo... Does this means that 30th anniversary stuff will not be restricted to the first film? Cause honestly I don't think there is much left in terms of dinosaurs and characters to do, unless they make playsets, but knowing their track record...

Love the male raptor, the female not so much. And it´s missing the red around the eye. >:(

So after getting a huge post in my collection thread done, I popped over onto instagram, and got pleasantly surprised. Images of Muldoon, and both JPIII raptors. I could cry, I'm so happy to see those finally getting released, and pretty faithful too. Both have accurate head sculpts. Other then maybe the eye colors being off, and the missing red markings on the male raptor's hands and feet (probably from the cost of the figure), I'm in love with these promo pics. I imagine in package pics will be even better. And the male raptor is so nice to finally see, after the Legacy one was canceled in 2018. Finally one in the mainline scale (I did buy the AC one as well though, which was one of the line's better figures, potential QC issues aside).

That all said, I'm not quite a fan of the fact the box for Alan and the raptor set will be windowless, but fingers crossed I can get a good one when it releases. I get why they are going that route though, to be more environmentally friendly, if not a cost cutting measure. Also I think the satchel and eggs were from that Legacy set that released in 2019. The one that was available in South Korea and I think Chile? Point is, bad distribution. So anyways, nice to see those accessories released again. Though it boggles my mind they didn't re-release the raptor resonating chamber accessory that was in the Darius and Gallimimus set.

Edit: Removed the duplicate images avatar_MLMjp @MLMjp posted right before me.

I'll definitely be getting Muldoon (original cast) but the raptors will be a pass. I like the look of the JP3 raptors but I'm not a big enough fan of JP3 to bother getting them. I'm really not interested in that version of Dr. Grant either, standing there looking at me and reminding me of the the movie that killed my childhood.

YesIAmaDinosaur

All of these are must haves for me!

I like the JP Alan Grant but I don't really like duplicates in any figures I have and something about the flannel has always been pretty sweet to me. Giving the blue Grant I had to my nephew and will stick with this as the 'Grant' in my setup. (I do have the Dominion one too but the head is so far off I just kind of use it as another person, ha.)

BTW, I'm new to the board...I see this is where the releases of Mattel items are discussed but can anyone point me to where people generally do their dino park setups/dioramas etc? I know it varies with all the different dino lines but I'd love to see what types of parks and such people have built.

Thanks!

Welcome to the site avatar_YesIAmaDinosaur @DramaticoRising. Unfortunately there's not a lot of park building and diorama sharing around here these days. There is a diorama sub-board. It is seldom used but there are some active threads and lots of great posts. I do suggest browsing the collection threads too though, lots of great collections in there.

I'm glad we got JP3 Raptors on the way, they are hands down my favourite raptors in the entire series. I'm also really happy to see Muldoon, and JP3 Grant is also a nice touch.

Ok, so I was looking way too much into the new JP3 raptor images, and when I zoomed in, I discovered that Mattel actually did not forgot about the paint around the eye, they just made it "purple"

Why would the do that? The only reason I can think of is that, due to lighting, the dark red does kinda look purple-ish in a lot of JP3 shots.

Flaffy

That jaw hinge is really poorly done. The mainline figures have better jaws than this supposed premium collectors line...

Exactly why I avoided acquiring the Hammond Collection so far. If anything, wait till these are all on sale or clearance. With the constant film inaccuracies being very much apparent, I'd rather wait for large discounts to really justify buying them.

Especially if I repaint them, which I shouldn't have to do for a "collector line."

It seems that the back of the male's foot is painted which is a little baffling, why only that one part? You'd think if you can apply just a dot of colour to the foot, you'd do it to the toes.
Oh well, I have to say.. these look really good.
Does anyone else not like that hand sculpt, though? So many of the raptors have it. It looks weird. I'd much rather have a hand like on their dominion ferocious pack blue, where it can actually look like it's holding onto something, or poised to snatch prey.
